Two Screenwriters Attached to Hancock 2!

Columbia Pictures has hired screenwriters Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara to pen Hancock 2, the sequel to the Will Smith superhero movie that grossed $624.4 million worldwide last year.

The Hollywood Reporter says the original producing team is expected to return. Its a given we will see Will Smith again, but its up in the air as to whether Charlize Theron or Jason Bateman will be reprising their roles. Its expected to expand on the plot of the first movie, all that Hancock as an immortal/Angel/God business. So expect to see some more Super beings in this one.

Fierro spent several seasons as a writer-producer on FX's "The Shield" and also worked on Fox's "24" and Showtime's "Dexter."

Mazzara was a showrunner on Starz's "Crash," wrote for NBC's "Life" and worked with Fierro on "The Shield."

The beginning of the first handcock was actually funny and entertaining but the end was lacking. I mean haven't we all wanted to see what superman would be like if he was a drunken asshole?
That said I don't see how they could duplicate that kind of fun in a sequel, what he falls off the wagon, goes to super hero AA meetings?

I'm not entirely sure it wouldn't be a prequel. I don't know...I was disappointed in it overall, but it could be saved if they expand on what worked in the first one. I'm not too concerned one way or the other on it though.

Well i enjoyed the FIRST one!!!

Though i cant see the point of a SEQUEL???

A prequel though, of how he turns the way he did would be cool!

Hancock didn't suck it was a good movie they just needed a better villain and i thought it ended well with him leaving so save his wife and it was good for them to explain how old he was, what happens when he gets next to his wife, and he could never die or age and were he was from

i would watch a sequel if i was to believe an all-out alien/superbeing invasion was coming for a trilogy.maybe with a big name and big profits they will make epic scenes of superpowered battle. then i'm in.Wil is a huge name and the profits should be handsome.do they have a good vision for this character?

what the hell did you guys not want any character development at all in the movie after you bitch about it in every other movie i mean if he was just a drunken ass the whole time it wouldve gotten old i mean imagine if ironman just kept drinkin and didnt try to come out of that....i liked the first one it was a good superhero movie based on an original idea a sequel can show him go offworld maybe if his home planet isnt earth or they could show what happened before and do a prequel like leee said

I liked Hancock , hated the way they ended the movie.
That's a pittfall for some great movies the ending usually lacks that finality or leading up to for another film.

hancock sucked absolute cock, why in the hell would you name the movie hancock, first off. that whole scene with jason bateman trying to get hancock to say good job [frick]ing gay, that movie made no damn sense. the whole sex scene,[frick]ing gay why would that stupid bitch get so damn scared. [frick]ing supergirl in the movie whatever her name was, therons character, im stronger than you [frick]ing gay. and why in the hell would those thugs try to kill hancock after he [frick]ed them up early in the movie they had no idea he was vulnerable they just went after him thinking they were going to kill him. I liked Hancock and I think the sequel/prequel has a lot of potential, especially as an origin story. They're not really locked into the demi-god story. They could've been created by anything. God, gods, aleins.... So if they get a creative team willing to push to limits this could become an interesting character.
