Jon Chu... Chris Zylka, Is The Man For Your He-Man

Director Jon Chu said earlier 2012 he was open for ideas about casting the lead for his new He-Man movie. Why Chris Zylka would be perfect for the job.

Director Jon Chu of G.I. Joe Retaliation is set to helm Masters of The Universe He-Man the movie. The director openly said he was checking website message boards etc. for ideas of the lead role for He-Man. He also said that he was very excited about the idea of bringing the iconic character to life. He invisioned the visual effects, already read the script, but had one thing still missing... his He-Man! Websites went aroar about who should get the part. I'm sure Chu yawned because the same names always popped up. Chris Hemsworth of Thor and Channing Tatum of G.I. Joe to name a few. Chris Hemsworth already said that he can't do it... basically He-Man is the same as Thor, and Channing is probally busy filming every other movie that's coming out. He-Man deserves a fresh start, a fresh face for an old story. He-Man is the tale of Prince Adam, through magic he becomes the Universe's greatest hero HE-MAN!
Enter: Chris Zylka

A young up and coming movie star who portrayed Flash Thompson, Peter Parkers hot headed high school bully in the amazing Spiderman movie. With his career about to take off now would be the time to cast him as your He-Man for years to come. For Chu this would be a steal, too often Hollywood types wait until the actor becomes too big and expensive. Chris Zylka has the look and the talent. It's just a matter of time before Hollywood sees he's the man. I just hope the good folks at Comicbookmovie.com PUTS THIS IN A SPOT WHERE JON CHU CAN SEE THIS!!! Please leave your comments.

The flim needs to be 100% set in Eternia. They can make many elements Earth-like, combined with a Sci-fi and horror feeling. This Chris Zylka guy looks the part, as long as he can act and I've seen TASM twice now and I found him very forgettable.

From what I've seen of the new Joe movie, Chu seems to have a good understanding of it. We'll see.

@MisterMagurlypse I agree with you, with todays special effects and cgi it would be great the kid Chris Zylka would own He-Man the director of TAMSM said he had to have him in the movie his role will increase in spiderman 2. After that he will definitly want to star in his own superhero role. Do you know how to put this on twitter I just want to get this out there?

He was forgettable because he wasn't in it for more than a minute. That's not a real sampling of anyone's talent.

They need to be very careful they don't make a 'John Carter' mistake.

Well, lookie there! Congrats @Gab! You better give him some good ideas, for real, MOTU was my FAV thing from the ages of 5 to 10, and my inner child will freak out if this project isn't treated with some respect for the mythos.

If I could put in my 2 cents, again 100% Eternia, and don't create new characters just for the hell of it. The 80's movie, with Gwildor, Blade and that reptile looking sucker, Wasnt cool! There are plenty of characters in this universe to pick from, albeit, some may need to be tweeked here and there, but don't stray too far.

@ jonmchu WOW I'm still in shock. I'm a huge fan of He-Man myself, and when I heard that you were doing the movie I was excited. I've read every article and every interview you've done thus far about it. I just wanted to give you my idea for Chris Zylka to be He-Man, I knew no one else was thinking that way. All I was hearing was Triple H and John Cena etc. Lol. And when I was asking comicbookmovie to put this in a spot where you could see it I was just ment the front page, I had no idea that they were going to actually give it to you, and that you read my article and that you took time to log in and write something. That alone makes this front page worthy to me. I took alot of time with my pick and I hope you really look into it. That's your He-Man trust me. Can't wait to see your take on G.I. Joe, and just for being down to earth your my new favorite director. -Gab

@PaulRom Thanks again this is big time!!!

That's awesome! I'm so stoked that Jon Chu is pushing for the project. It really needs a fan to spearhead it. That way it's done right. I knew he was right for GI Joe when I heard of the nine minute ninja fight scene with no dialogue, just like that one issue of the Marvel comic. A true fan. That was one of my FAV issues for that reason and to see it put in the movie is cool. I really trust this guy with my childhood favorites.
