The winners of the 44th annual Golden Raspberry Awards (or, "Razzies") have been announced, and while two 2023 superhero movies - Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Shazam! Fury of the Gods - were nominated in several categories, it was recent low-budget horror parody Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey that ended up sweeping the board with five "wins."

Blood and Honey picked up Razzies for Worst Picture, Worst Screen Couple for Pooh and Piglet, and Worst Remake, Rip-Off, or Sequel, with Rhys Frake-Waterfield walking away with Worst Director and Worst Screenplay.

Despite being universally panned (3% on Rotten Tomatoes), the movie actually proved to be a pretty big hit, grossing $5 million worldwide against its $100,000 budget. Naturally, a sequel is on the way.

Elsewhere, Razzie regular Sylvester Stallone picked up his 12th award for Worst Supporting Actor for Expend4bles, while co-star Megan Fox won Worst Supporting Actress. The Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star also won Worst Actress for horror-heist film Johnny & Clyde.

Oscar-winner Jon Voight won the Worst Actor Razzie for action flick Mercy, while SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher won the Razzie Redeemer Award "for her brilliant shepherding of the actors’ guild through a prolonged 2023 strike with a successful conclusion."

The Razzies began back in 1981, and the Oscars parody show was seen as a bit of harmless fun for many years (Halle Barry even showed up to collect her Worst Actress award for Catwoman), but the annual "celebration" of the worst cinema has to offer has come in for a lot of backlash over the past few years.

What do you guys make of the Razzie Awards? Is it time to call it a day, or are people being too sensitive? Be sure to drop us a comment down below, and check out the full list of winners.

I thought Quantumania was pretty rad. The Marvels & Madame Web however......

...we know the deal.

"...Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey that ended up sweeping the board with five "wins."

Screw those guys! Blood and Honey was awesome! Well, in the worst way possible, but still great.

@lazlodaytona - Well, the Razzies have never entirely been what is the actual worst film/actor otherwise most the awards would likely go to stuff/people we have never heard of, lol.

Always tended to think of it more in most cases of guilty pleasure type stuff where they enjoyed a realy bad film hence why nominating or actors they love who were in bad films. Tend to think they don't nominate stuff that isn't worth the attention of voting for anyway which again means the winners may not be beyond being enjoyed in the worst way possible mixed with stuff many were hyped for, hence folk went and watched in the first place, that hugely disappointed when they dropped.

@Apophis71 - fair enough and I understand your good point.

Lol Love the razzies. Its the awards show for who phoned it in the most. Damn Megan really racked it up though. 2023 was the year of just collecting a check for her.

I didn't even recognize Megan Fox in the thumbnail. Sheesh.

When will these chicks ever learn that all this plastic surgery just ends up making them look like a victim of the Joker's smylex gas?

braunermegda
braunermegda - 3/10/2024, 11:07 AM
@Feralwookiee - never, because it's a cruel business. If they don't do these, they'll be no longer desired. If they do, they'll look like plastic. Even Meryl Streep said she was offered 3 witches in a year after a certain age, imagine someone who is not talented and only known by her looks, like Megan. Sad industry.

I’m as likely to watch this as I was the State of the Union speech, which is 0%.

@braunermegda - Their viewership has been in the tank in recent years so it sure seems like my opinion is pretty common.

Lol...The Razzies. Im sure the voters probably just watched less than 10 movies this year. Some of these nominees are just for clout.

Actually taking The Razzies seriously with the Expend4bles nod. The franchise is like a parody of the first movie now, which was an actually solid action flick.
