"Someone is dead. No one shall leave this place until I know who did it."

Kenneth Branagh's previous Agatha Christie adaptations, Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, were whodunnit thrillers with no supernatural elements, but the acclaimed filmmaker's next Hercule Poirot adventure, A Haunting in Venice, looks like it's going to take things deep into horror territory!

20th Century Studios (via FearHQ.com) has now debuted a second trailer and new poster for the movie, and whether the ghostly goings-on turn out to be real or merely an elaborate hoax, A Haunting in Venice is definitely being marketed as a horror flick.

Joining Branagh is an impressive supporting cast including Tina Fey, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Dornan, Jude Hill, Kelly Reilly, Emma Laird, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Ali Khan and Riccardo Scamarcio.

Check out the new trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

“A Haunting in Venice is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets."

Reuniting many of the filmmakers behind 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express and 2022’s Death on the Nile, the film is once again directed by Kenneth Branagh with a screenplay by Oscar nominee Michael Green, based upon Agatha Christie’s novel “Hallowe’en Party.”

Branagh also produces alongside Judy Hofflund, Ridley Scott, and Simon Kinberg, with Louise Killin, James Prichard, and Mark Gordon serving as executive producers.

If this is a fake out, and they're just grifting suffering people, I'll be very disappointed because this looks really good!

The wife and I quite enjoy Branagh's "Poirot" thrillers. Can't wait for this one.

Looks good , I’m liking the turn into more supernatural /horror territory for this one by adapting a lesser known story.

I have been a fan of Branagh’s take on the “Poirot” stories so far so I’m looking forward to this!!.
