I doubt many of you are looking forward to the new "Resident Evil" given that the fan response to the previous movies has been underwhelming to say the least. However, star Bingbing Li offers us a glimmer of hope that some fresh vigor is about to be injected into this franchise. IFC caught up with Bingbing Li, who plays Ada Wong in the upcoming "Resident Evil", and this is what she had to say about the movie.
“You cannot imagine what’s going to be happen in the movie and how scary the movie is going to be,” she said excitedly, calling it a “huge production.” “[It will be] a lot different from the other ‘Resident Evil’ [movies].”
Let's hope she's right because we really do want to like this movie.
This movie will boast some familiar people both on and off camera.
“Resident Evil: Retribution” hits theaters on September 14. In addition to Jovovich and Li, the movie stars Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts and Colin Salmon. In it, Paul W.S. Anderson reprises his role as director of the franchise.
What do you guys think? Is the fact that Michelle Rodriguez is returning to the franchise a sign that Bingbing Li might be right and that director Paul W.S. Anderson is stirring up the same creative powers he employed in the fan favorite movie "Event Horizon"?
