Last week, it was announced that
Get Out writer and director
Jordan Peele's next film will be titled Us. He released a teaser poster alongside the announcement revealing a March 2019 release date along with the tagline:
"A new nightmare from the mind of Academy Award winner Jordan Peele."
Specific details regarding Peele's next horror flick remained under wraps, but at the time
Variety reported that Lupita Nyong'o was in talks to star in the movie. Now, the
Black Panther actress has officially confirmed her involvement. Taking to Twitter, Nyong'o, who plays Nakia in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared the same poster from
Us as last week, only this time her name is front-and-center above the logo.
It's unclear who Nyong'o will play in the thriller, as we still have no actual details, nor do we know who she will star alongside. Variety also reported that Elisabeth Moss from
The Handmaid's Tale is being eyed as a "top choice" for another role. Additionally, Winston Duke, also from
Black Panther, is in talks for another lead role in the movie. Aside from Nyong'o though, no other actors have been confirmed.
According to
IGN, Peele previously said his next project would
"tonally resemble Get Out" while also adressing
"something different than race." With that in mind, let the speculation begin while we wait for more official news for the upcoming thriller
Us.
