Holy shit it shat on Winter Soldier! I expected it to shlt on ASM 2 but not Cap

Hot damn, this makes me happy.

Dang. And come next year Fast and Furious 7 will be the largest opening in Aprril. It was good while it lasted Cap. You're still a hero in my eyes. lol

Don't know how many will agree with me here but I was actually pretty disappointed by this film. I mean I still liked it but it really was a slow burn. Having watched "Monsters", I expected Godzilla to take a backseat in some ways but not to the extent he is in the film. I mean the MUTO is the only creature we see for the first half. Also, the film is full of teases. Showing Godzilla's full form and then cutting away from the battle? I felt offended at that scene. I understand Edwards has a budget and such but the film was so weirdly edited at points.

Now, the biggest problem. The humans. Aaron Taylor Johnson did okay as leading man. Not great, not bad, okay. Okay isn't good enough to focus on for the entire 2/3rds of the film + some of the third. Killing off Cranston was a HUGE mistake this film made. No other human character is even remotely interesting. Ken Watanabe, who I absolutely adore as a performer, literally looks confused and awe struck in every single scene he's in. It really is a shame.

Alas, the fight scenes are incredible. Sad they are only so little of the run time though.

[frick] yeah!!!!!!! Now that means that Godzilla will have a sequel.
Next weekend X-Men DOFP will open with $125M!!!!!!!!

Also, the final battle should've have been more fluid. I just wish they let Godzilla fight with the monsters for more than 10 seconds. They kept cutting back and forth with the army. It really took me out of the film. It's strange because I like the dilemma. I like what's going on. I just really disliked how it was put together. I think the film would've benefited from trimming much of
the army sequence and just letting the battle run its course.

May and summer blockbusters should bring in more box office, but I do find this surprising it is that high. Haven't heard the greatest feedback from friends that have seen it and I have a feeling it will lose its legs quickly.

Damn! Very deserving, just watched it on regular yesterday and IMAX today, IMAX is the way to go.

Idiots that complain that you don't see Godzilla much in this film clearly don't know the meaning of the word suspense. This is the first time we see him they won't be doing that for the sequel as he's introduced
