The full trailer for mother! dropped late last night, and it definitely gives us a much better idea of what to expect from what now appears to be a variation on a home invasion horror movie, as Jennifer Lawrence's character is terrorised by some unwelcome guests.

The twist? They were seemingly invited by her husband (Javier Bardem).

Director Darren Aronofsky has proven to be adept at adding rather terrifying sequences to some of his previous films (Black Swan, Requiem for A Dream etc), but will be the acclaimed filmmaker's first foray into full-on horror.

Check out the trailer below along with a new poster, and let us know what you think in the usual place.

mother! also stars Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, and Kristen Wiig, and is set to hit theaters on September 15th.

Looks interesting. Always up for whatever Aronofsky does. And I love that Michelle Pfeiffer's been having somewhat of a comeback lately.

I'm probably wrong butttttttttt I'm getting the vibe that Jennifer is batshit and has amnesia of some sort and Michelle and Ed are her parents . . . . . . ????

Wait @RorMachine Did you remove my comment for saying that this article has nothing to do with comics or comic-book movies? Was I wrong in saying that?
