Goosebumps creator and author R.L. Stine took to social media this morning to share the news that the long awaited sequel to Sony Pictures' movie adaptation has begun filming.
In addition to filming news, Stine revealed the official title fo the sequel. While it was initially rumored to be called
Goosebumps: Slappy's Revenge, Stine confirmed that the film will instead be known as
Slappy Halloween.
The original Goosebumps film released in 2015 and starred Jack Black as a fictional version of Stine, as well as the voice of Slappy, the evil puppet. The new sequel is rumored to follow the story of the book Slappy's Revenge, although it's not yet known if Jack Black will return.
After a series of date changes, Goosebumps: Slappy Halloween is set to release on October 12, just in time for Halloween - which makes sense given the title. However, with filming only getting under way now it'll be tough to make that October premiere a reality.
