Goosebumps creator and author R.L. Stine took to social media this morning to share the news that the long awaited sequel to Sony Pictures' movie adaptation has begun filming.

In addition to filming news, Stine revealed the official title fo the sequel. While it was initially rumored to be called Goosebumps: Slappy's Revenge, Stine confirmed that the film will instead be known as Slappy Halloween.

The original Goosebumps film released in 2015 and starred Jack Black as a fictional version of Stine, as well as the voice of Slappy, the evil puppet. The new sequel is rumored to follow the story of the book Slappy's Revenge, although it's not yet known if Jack Black will return.

After a series of date changes, Goosebumps: Slappy Halloween is set to release on October 12, just in time for Halloween - which makes sense given the title. However, with filming only getting under way now it'll be tough to make that October premiere a reality.

I hope odeya comes back and the rest of the cast. They made the movie and odeya is a fine actress, she was great in the bachelor and Dylan Minnette was great and 13 reasons.

Loved the books while I was growing up, and I really enjoyed the first film, I was genuinely surprised by it.
Will check this one out.

R.L. Stine definitely played a big part of my love of books.

@SimplyAz - I made my grandpa buy them all when I was a kid; either from my school catalog or from my supermarket. Shame that I only read a few and left them when I moved.

@DevarikaWoulf - Definitely some good books. Did you leave them in the house when you moved?

@SimplyAz - Yep; 11 years ago. So unless the people renovating the home liked some horror books then they're long gone. I also left many video game, wrestling, and comic magazines from the 90s/2000s. It stings now... wish I had them all to relive the era.

That would be quite a cool thing to find. I understand, my Mum gave away our toys to charity once we outgrew them, which was fair enough at the time but man, there's a some I wish I still had. Especially a few Thundercat and Terminator action figures.

Was really shocked by how much i enjoyed the first movie. Went and saw it with my little brother and we both had a great time. It’s not great or anything, but i’ll Definitely go see a sequel.

Eh, the first was ok. Definitely more for today's generation which is cool. Surprised that the sequel is getting made. I'm more excited for the "Are You Afraid of the Dark" movie.

I was more excited when the sequel was set in Horrorland. However, I love the books and the first film so I'm definitely in. I hope the sequel gets more recognition.
