Legendary invited the media to check out their Comic Con event, the Godzilla Experience. And Deadline has just released the first image of the newly designed Godzilla. Our Godzilla expert, Daniel Alvarez, says the facial design is reminiscent of the '84 &'89 look.

Legendary Pictures: Godzilla -- An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The screenplay is by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham. Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are the executive producers, alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira. The film is from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.


GODZILLA will stomp into theaters May 16, 2014.

That model is from one of the earlier Godzilla flicks. I would rather prefer a more "realistic" design to the big G. But still keep him recognizable, not like that stupid 100 ft salamander we got in 1998 -_-

Yeah, I agree... I hope @Destroyer14 Is losing his mind right now. He's the biggest Kaiju/Monster/Transformers fan I know. Hope this pleases him. I really want him to be happy with this film, which means it better not suck and focus on the human characters too much!

As for me? He looks damn awesome! I've never been a big Godzilla fan, but after having a epileptic meltdown from the brilliance of Pacific Rim(Job), I've been watching all the old films and having a grand 'Ol time with nostalgia. Even bought some of the MonsterArt figures: Godzilla, Burning Godzilla, Comic-Con Explosion Godzilla, Space Godzilla and Fire Rodan... SHWEET!
