First Official Still From Season Nine Of SUPERNATURAL Released

The CW have released the first official image from the upcoming ninth season of Supernatural, and while Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) both look very much their normal selves, the now human Castiel (Misha Collins) is almost unrecognisable without his iconic trench coat! Check it out.

So, what does this tell us about season nine of Supernatural? Not much, but the human Castiel will obviously get a new look now that he and the rest of the angels have fallen to Earth! Battlestar Galactica and Arrow star Tahmoh Penikett was recently cast as Ezekiel, a fallen warrior angel who will first appear in the season premiere. Are you guys looking forward to the return of Supernatural?

Cas without his trench coat, Dean looking pissed with a big knife (non-demon killing), and Sam still looking to be in bad shape since season 8 finale. I personally like that this picture looks a little more washed out, less "colorful" which is the style I prefer for the show. Been watching since episode 1 and will be watching until the finale!

After 2 weak seasons, last season was really good. I'm glad I stuck with it.

@AnnoDomini which two episodes are you meaning in season 6?
I really liked season 6, looking back. At the time it seemed so odd and misdirected, but when I re-watched the episodes I could really see the main plot. Except the end to the Lisa/Ben story, which was just lame haha.

Ah thank you! I haven't watched season 6 since 2 years back nearly, so I am going to watch those episodes again as soon as I can.
The Leviathan could have been so badass in season 7, but the whole corporate takeover idea was dull. I did like seeing how the characters reacted to fighting a new monster though! To think that hunters had to go through that for vampires and all the other monsters was a nice twist but was executed poorly in parts.

I have high hopes for this season and expectations for things to go full circle back to references in season 5. Fingers crossed!

I never understood the hate for season 6 its actually one of my favorite seasons from Supernatural and yes the man who would be king is one of the best episodes of Supernatural period. Season seven was ok. Could of been better. I think they should of vocused on Cas being the New God a little more or at least had left the leviathan inhabit his body longer. Leviathan Cas was awesome. But yeah the leviathan them could of been done a lot better

This is one of the best shows ever produced for television. For those who got bored of it, that says more about you and/or our society than it does about the show. There's really not much else on TV that's better than Supernatural at its worst.
