Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes "The Cabin in the Woods" a mind-blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out. Produced by Whedon and directed by Goddard from a script by both, the film stars Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford.

The Cabin in the Woods is set for April 13th release.

Does this movie stem from a comic book? If not, why the [frick] is it on this website? Cause the guy that directed it is directing The Avengers? This site carries more articles about non comic book movie related stuff than it does on actual CBMs.

1- Word on the street is that this flick is amazing. Kind of turns the horror genre on its ass.

2- Joss Whedon didn't direct this, he co-wrote it.

3- Several years ago, probably before you even knew this site existed, ComicBoomMovie.com officially changed it's logo to the now shortened "CBM" so that more films and topics could be covered outside the comic book world. There are actually sub-categories for horror, video games, anime, and many others, so Cabin in the Woods most certainly does belong on this site. DOn't like it? Don't click on it.

...and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) is in it. So someone who cared about CBMs might be interested to know how Joss and Chris worked before The Avengers. Just a thought. But I guess haters gonna hate.

Nicely said ecksmanfan

This is my second most anticipated movie of the year, the first being Avengers of course. The release date has been getting pushed forward for four years, I can't wait! The reviews, professional and public, have been phenominal. This is going to be a big one.
Plus, I love the cast, except for Jesse Williams, I know and love them all.

Wow, this seems like a really original idea!! I cannot think of another movie similar to it...

The most tired out genre in film history - the best 'twist' would be to bury every reel in deep, deep landfill. No interest whatsoever.

I don't think I've heard a bad thing about it. Not to say it doesn't have it's faults, because I'm sure it does, but like Trudy said, for a horror film to get this kind of praise is rarely heard of.

@BillyBatson @ RossBentley

If you are tired of the horror genre than this might be exactly the movie you would be into. Don't judge too quickly.

@1980

Way to bring in pointless information.

Fun script, sucky ending IMO, they get bonus points for going with a 'non traditional ending'

I hated the characters so hopefully the cast can sell it.

Shame the trailer gives away the whole film though.

@ecksmanfan you can make up whatever excuse you want..if changing a logo justifies having horror movies on a comic book movie website, run with it man. You and I both know if Joss wasn't attached to this movie it wouldn't have ever made it up here. This article was specifically clicked into to post my comment about non comic bs being posted on this site. Go suck off the site operators while you guys watch Cabin in the Woods.
