According to what Schmoes Know have gathered from their trusted sources, Dimension Films are awaiting a screenplay that is due on Fall 2015. That screenplay is for none other than the next installment in the
Halloween franchise,
Halloween: The Next Chapter. The report states that Patrick Lussier's and Todd Farmer's intended
Halloween II (2009) sequel,
Halloween 3D, has been completely scrapped and that Dimension films is going for a fresh take on the long running horror franchise. While
The Next Chapter won't be a direct sequel to Rob Zombie's reboot series, it won't be a complete reboot either. It will, however, lead the franchise in a new direction. It is unknown whether or not Scout Taylor Compton will reprise her role as Laurie Strode in this movie. Because Dimension Films has yet to make an official announcement themselves, this information must be taken as a grain of salt for right now.
So what do you guys think? Do you hope this report turns out to be correct and that the script gets greenlit? Would you rather see a direct sequel to the Rob Zombie films, instead of a fresh take? Do you want to see Scout Taylor Compton return? Are you done with the franchise all together? Let me know below!

As far as the "DC vs. Marvel" rivalry goes, I'm really not biased when it comes to studios and publishers. Preferences are fine, but I've never understood the basing of opinions purely by the studio/publisher that makes it.
