The teaser trailer for Amazon's upcoming reboot of hit '90s slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer is now online, giving us a first look at some footage from the young-adult horror series.
The 1997 original was based on the novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, and starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. as a group of teens who find themselves stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
This trailer suggests that the show will follow the same premise, but it looks like the blood, terror and threat have been toned down considerably. Honestly, a couple of shots aside, this could be a teaser for the Gossip Girl reboot.
Check it out below and let us know what you think.
One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who's after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town — and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.
The project hails from Sony Pictures Television and Original Film, and has Preacher scribe Sara Goodman on board as writer. Madison Iseman (Jumanji: The Next Level) will play the lead, and she'll be joined by Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom (Homecoming) and Bill Heck.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is set to premiere on October 15.
