IT: CHAPTER 2 - Check Out The Terrifying First Poster And Trailer For Pennywise The Clown's Present Day Return

We hope you're ready to have nightmares! Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for IT: Chapter 2, and it's three minutes of edge of your seat terror. Check out Pennywise's return after the jump...

Stephen King adaptations have a bit of spotty track record, but It exceeded all expectations back in 2017 and proved to be one of the best horror movies in recent memory.

Now, the first trailer for It: Chapter 2 has arrived, and it's clear that this sequel is going to be just as good, if not better. Kicking off with an extended clip of sorts, the tension rises until we get to see the Losers Club both in the past and present, as it all builds up to the terrifying clown's return.

As teasers go, this is pretty great, and between the star-studded cast and the intrigue surrounding how the story is going to conclude, this should rule the box office once it's released in September.

Check out the trailer and poster below and keep checking back for more on It: Chapter 2.

Looking forward to it. Actually a pretty creepy trailer. I thought the new Pet Sematary was terrible, so hopefully this will make up for it as far as Stephen King adaptations go.

@gulducati

I thought Pet Sematary was alright - not great but good. The actors were all really great - ending was [frick]ed up.

@regularmovieguy - I had a few problems with it. In the book, the bond that builds between Jud and the girl are what compels him to bury her cat. That bond wasn't built enough in the movie, so the motivation to do something that he knew was a dumb move made no sense. Also, the whole movie seems to be a subversion for people who have seen the 80's version (change the kid who dies, change the ending, etc.). The acting was great, I'll agree. Problem was in the pacing and the editing. Ending was reminiscent of what they did to the Mist movie. You're left thinking, wow the morale of the story is that everything is sh*t.

@gulducati

I feel that. I saw a few other people talk about Jud’s relationship with the daughter. It was pretty underdeveloped.

I did like that mother’s story arc. Her sister/cousin/aunt? was creepy af.

Lmao...can’t argue that either.

The old librarian in Chapter 1 was unsettling too.

@regularmovieguy - I didn't notice the librarian in my first viewing, but once it was pointed out, that scene became 10 times more tense and creepy.

Looks awesome, great opening to that trailer. Hope it's better than the first one. I liked it a lot but was surprised how many jump scares/repeating pattern format the scares took form of. Can't wait.

@BlackBeltJones - I love It and its hands down one of my favorite horror movies of all time. This scene freaked me out as silly as that may sound and I just could not put my hand on it. Then I realized its the way the body is jerking around and the look of the CGI head that was eerily placed on it.
