IT: CHAPTER TWO Writer Gary Dauberman Talks Spinoff Possibilities And That Rumored "Supercut" - EXCLUSIVE

Gary Dauberman co-wrote IT and penned the screenplay for IT: Chapter Two, but what are his thoughts on potential Pennywise-led spinoffs and that rumoured "Supercut" of both movies? Read on for details...

The two IT movies successfully adapted Stephen King's lengthy novel (while admittedly making some significant changes), but it's hard to escape the feeling that there are more stories that could be told featuring the monstrous Pennywise. After all, he was on Earth for a very long time, and given the money made by these first two chapters, spinoffs exploring his past are bound to be on the cards...right?

Well, when we recently had the chance to talk to Annabelle Comes Home writer and director Gary Dauberman to discuss that movie's release on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK this week, we asked if he thinks spinoffs, similar to those that stemmed from with The Conjuring franchise, could become a reality.

"I do think it's possible," he said. "Anything in the Stephen King Universe interests me but there's only so much of the story we could tell in the two movie. There are definitely elements of the novel you could expand on and make its own movie. It's just a question of whether or not people want to see it but I do think It was on this planet for a very, very, very long time and that's a lot of bloodshed and a lot of stories to tell and I think you could do that for sure."

We then asked Dauberman about director Andy Muschietti's apparent plans to create a "Supercut" of both IT movies, and while the writer is on board, he sounds happy with how the movies turned out.

"I know Andy has an idea about a 'supercut' which I would love to see but we cut things for a reason so if there was something I desperately wanted to see or wanted put in there, we could have found a way to put it in," he explained. "That's not to say that the stuff that's not in there isn't great but we put the stuff that's in the movie there because that's what makes it better."

"I can't think of anything offhand where I'd say I wish we hadn't cut that and I can't wait for people to see but I think there's plenty of things there that fans would love to check out if there was to be a 'supercut.'"
There hasn't been an update on that front for a while but it would be cool to see.

What do you guys think?

They should've supercut most of the adult flashback scenes. They became repetitive and really slowed the movie down.

I definitely wouldn't watch a longer version of that movie

I haven't seen Chapter 2 yet, but I'd LOVE a supercut.

I'd love to see that unreleased 4-hour cut of Blade Runner 49 too for that matter.

Chapter 2 was a bit let down for me as well. Loved Chapter 1 but I still like the book way more. My second favorite King book with the Stand at #1. Currently reading The Shining.

I was kind of holding out for some kind of super cut of both parts as I don't own Chapter 1 when it came out on DVD. If they do Perfect edition or something I might get that. As for spin-offs:
