After the moderate box office success of Blumhouse's Truth or Dare, Jeff Wadlow is once again taking the studio's lead with a horror film surrounding a Magic 8 Ball. The toy, which was conceived in the 1950's, is hoping to scare 21st century audiences when the film hits theaters in the coming years.
Mattel announced the exciting news, which included the involvement of the director, also unveiled the film's writers. In addition to Wadlow, the script is currently being written by frequent collaborators Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach.
Having had successes with existing horror games before (Ouija), this comes as no surprise for the independent Blumhouse Studios.
