According to Variety, Kyle Chandler (Manchester by the Sea, Bloodline, Super 8) is the second major casting addition to Legendary's Godzilla: King of Monsters. Chandler has made a career out of playing fatherly/mentor roles over the years, and that's set to continue in this sequel as he'll be co-starring as Millie Bobby Brown's character's dad.

Plot details are still under wraps, but it's a safe bet the story will involve giant monsters wrecking stuff while humans try to stay out of their way. Hopefully, we'll also get a little tease of the big fella's inevitable showdown with King Kong.

Krampus director Michael Dougherty takes over from Gareth Edwards on Godzilla: King of Monsters, which is set for release on March 22, 2019.

Surprising that there's no mention of him being in the previous King Kong movie when this is meant to tie in with the new KK movie/universe

Interesting casting. He was in Peter Jackson's King Kong. Hmmmm....

Very good actor, and Brown is so as well. Cast is shaping up nicely indeed.

They really gotta up the ante on monster action and the VFX, the previous Godzilla left much to be desired

Well I hope the human story is alot better this time around. The only person I would like to see return is ken watanabe and maybe david strathairns character. Kong:skull island looks really good so I hope they are working out the kinks of Godzilla. It was a good film, but could have been great.

@CurlyBill - As a life time fan of giant monster movies I have to say frick the human story. I'm not there to sit down watching humans discussing their problems when giant monsters are fighting to the death while destroying cities. Just saiyan!

Sites need to get the memo that the director confirmed the title is "King of THE Monsters", not just "King of Monsters".
