In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

While Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are some of my favorite movies out there, I'm really looking forward to this one. The original movie was a bit too unintentionally hokey for my tastes. The effects were crap, and the acting wasn't much better. I feel like this is the movie Raimi would have wanted to make if he had the budget for it.

Close minded comment about how remakes always suck. Generic assumption about how the film sucks even though I haven't seen it yet.

There has never been a single remake better or as good as the original!

Well, except for John Carpenters the Thing. Or Batman Begins. Or David Chronenburgs the Fly, Or Brian Depalmas Scarface, or Peter Jacksons King Kong Or Oceans 11, or True Grit, or Cape Fear.
