Sarah Gadon Joins Luke Evans In Universal's DRACULA
Variety report that the Cosmopolis actress is in final negotiations to play the female lead (Mina Harker?) in Universal's upcoming Dracula movie, which will also star Luke Evans as the legendary vampire.
According to Variety, frequent David Cronenberg collaborator Sarah Gadon will play the female lead in Universal's Dracula movie which will be directed by Gary Shore. Luke Evans (Immortals) has already signed on to play "Prince Vlad", who of course becomes the most famous of vampires, Dracula. Apparently the story will be "a mix of mythology and history as it follows the story of Prince Vlad, the inspiration for the Dracula character popularized by the Bram Stoker novel." Ordinarily it'd be assumed that the female lead character would be Mina Harker, but this being part origin tale it's not a given that's who Gadon will play. More updates as we have em'. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the script, and the movie has an August 8th, 2014 release date.
