SUPERNATURAL: CW Looking To Develop New Spin Off; New Season 10 Description

Many were shocked to see Supernatural: Bloodlines absent from The CWs 2014/15 schedule. The potential pilot failed to generate a positive buzz when the premise was introduced in Supernaturals ninth season. However, The CW have today announced plans to develop a new spin off.

The CW upfronts were held today which gathered a lot of attention with new teasers for The Flash series and news of the networks other shows.

One thing noticeably lacking from the channels schedule was the Supernatural spin off 'Bloodlines' which looked likely to receive a series order. News of the spin offs cancelation was bound to upset fans but network head Mark Pedowitz revealed plans to try and create a spin off once more citing that  "We believe that there's a real brand in Supernatural,"

Pedowitz went on to say "We had six really good pilots this year. We felt that Supernatural [spinoff Bloodlines] just didn’t quite get there, though we do know that people would come to it based on what we saw that night,"   "I've already spoken to the creator and the studio. They know that we want to develop once more next season, a Supernatural spinoff. What it is and what it isn't yet is still in the air."

Pedowitz remarked that discussions about what that spinoff would be will be determined around June and July.

A new description for Supernatural season 10 was also revealed at todays conference:

The thrilling and terrifying journey of the Winchester brothers continues as SUPERNATURAL enters its tenth season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have spent their lives on the road, battling every kind of supernatural threat. Over the years, after dozens of bloody adventures, they have faced everything from the yellow-eyed demon that killed their mother to vampires, ghosts, shapeshifters, angels and fallen gods. They even came face to face with Lucifer and the Four Horsemen in averting the Apocalypse. With the help of allies — both human and supernatural — they’ve discovered that every threat they vanquish opens a new door for evil to enter in. In the show’s ninth season, after failing to close the gates of Hell, Sam and Dean were faced with the consequences of the decisions they made in the interest of saving each other. Castiel continued to face off against Metatron in a battle to restore order while Crowley, engaged in his own power struggle, made an uneasy alliance with Dean to finally end Abbadon. When the dust settles, if the dust settles, who will be left standing? And what side will they stand for? SUPERNATURAL is from Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers Robert Singer (“Midnight Caller”), Jeremy Carver (“Being Human”), Phil Sgriccia and Adam Glass.

I really hope they go into any mythology other than the Judea-Christian stuff. The whole Demon/Angel thing has been played out. At worst I want some more Djinn. At the best, gimmie Zeus and the Olympians, or Loki and Thor, or Hindu gods or something.

@SlphaAndDecima That is a great idea for a spin-off. Obviously theCW refuse to make a spin-off without a ton of monster characters, so your idea still allows for that.

Its time to wrap up Supernatural. To me the stories are getting repetitive.

Let season ten be the last season, its a good show but the quality these last few seasons has been up and down. I'd be willing to give a spinoff a try so long as its of the same quality of the show back in the early days, maybe get Eric Kripke back to produce it.
