THR report that Alcon Television Group, the TV arm of Alcon Entertainment, has made acclaimed horror comic book series from artist Terry Moore Rachel Rising the first piece of property it has picked up since its inception only 10 months ago. Described as "a horror story for people who don't like horror stories", the comic -- which was nominated for best new series at the 2012 Harvey Awards -- tells the story of Rachel, a woman "awakens" dead in a shallow grave and tries to piece together what happened to her. She is tracked by a mysterious blond woman and a maniacal young girl named Zoe. Moore will serve as an exec producer with Hellboy/Watchmen producer Lloyd Levin. Alcon’s Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson and Sharon Hall will also exec produce.
