'Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D' Officially Rated 'R' By The MPAA

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, the seventh entry in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, has now received an official rating from the Motion Picture Association Of America (MPAA). The upcoming horror film will be rated 'R' for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.” This probably won't be surprising to most fans of the franchise considering all six of it's predecessors received the same rating.

Rather than being featured in the same universe as the 2003 reboot and it's prequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D will be a sequel only to the 1974 original (poster seen below) ignoring the events of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation.

Synopsis: A young woman named Heather travels to Texas to collect an inheritance; little does she know that an encounter with a chainsaw-yielding killer is part of the reward.

The film stars Alexandra Daddario as Heather, Dan Yeager as Bubba "Leatherface" Sawyer, and Bill Moseley as Drayton Sawyer. Directed by John Luessenhop. From Lionsgate, the company that brought you Saw 3D: The Final Chapter.

@ marvel0madness
No movie is original. 90% of movies in a certain genre usually have the same character archetypes and story points. It's so annoying when people say that, as if Hollywood has just now within the last 7 years or so started to do sequels and remakes/reboots. They've ALWAYS done that. People bitch waaay too much.

@CrimsonArk thats something i tell people constantly that think they are insightful for noticing the remake trend, as if its any different than the buddy cop, the Arnold and Stalone action flicks or even Noire films. And while remakes have definitely stepped up alot of films that many wouldnt think (like scarface) are actually remakes

Another Guilty Pleasure. They are just fun to watch plus its my home state. Not that I should be proud of a fictional Chainsaw Killer but you know what I mean.

@CrimsonArk and @ Ha1frican people are just cynical these days, they have to complain about everything, in the next ten years production Companys will keep making reboots like they've always done.

Why does that poster gloat "From the producer of Saw 3D: The final chapter." It's nothing to be proud of.
