The Crow Caliber Luke Evans

It seems Corin Hardy will direct Relativity Studios'' reboot/remake of The Crow, which is based on the acclaimed graphic novel by James O'Barr, filmed once already as the fan-favourite 1994 movie starring the late Brandon Lee. Hardy made his live action feature directing debut on a film called The Hallow, which will be released next year. Prior to that he got noticed for his animated short Butterfly, and for directing a number of music videos for the likes of Keane, Ed Dheeran and The Prodigy. We've had multiple reports that Luke Evans (The Hobbit films) is set to star as Eric Draven, and though Deadline make no mention of that, we'll have to assume he's still on board. Hardy replaces F. Javier Gutiérrez, who left the project to direct the next installment of The Ring franchise. Production is slated to start next Spring.

And here come the bitching from the remake/reboot haters... Don't get me wrong i would love to see some more original films get released, but I also would love to see some favorite films get re-imagined. The first Crow was amazing but its about time we get a Crow film that stands up to today's quality of film making.

Stop crowing about this movie and make it already.

I hope this movie makes the naysayers eat crow.

They should have hired Cameron Crowe to direct it.

Crow.

I think Gerard Way would've made a better Crow. Certainly fits the description in the book.

Though I love the original Crow, there is definitely room for improvement, especially if this one has a bigger budget. I have to admit that I have my doubts about this one, but I am willing to give it a chance if the first trailer looks promising.

People hate on remakes because Hollywood is always messing them up. You have the exceptions but they made way too many crap remakes/reboots of the classics.

I rather not be a battered up wife.

They should be using the money to reboot movies that have potential but didn't really get it right the first time.....Waterworld plz.

I think Luke Evans will play it closer to Vincent Perez' performance as Ash.

Holy Shi'ar, this dude taught me to stop-motion animate, he ran a workshop about it nearby about ten years ago. Also introduced me to Studio Ghibli. Cool dude.

I get the feeling Evans is hitching his trailer to the wrong wagons.

And Sheryl Crow is not hot. Big teeth.

Booo! Who the heck is Corin Hardy? It sounds like Relativity Studios is scraping the bottom of the barrel for directors.

No self respecting director wants to go near this remake for a reason. The Crow was such a great movie. It's a classic.

There is no way this remake will come close to the original movie.

@case I'm pretty sure that is actually Intruder. The way he talks sounds just like him.

I met James O'Barr a couple weekends ago. Nice guy & an amazing artist. He had nothing but good things to day about this new movie and that it would be more accurate to the comic. That would make it a lot different from the original movie. I LOVED Brandon Lee as the Crow but I think it could be cool to see something a bit more comic book accurate.

This is still happening? Never hear anything about it. And I hate to be one of those "LOL WON'T BE AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL" guys, but... yeah. Not saying this one will suck, but the original was just so good.
