Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse, The Northman) has made another exciting casting addition to his planned remake of horror classic Nosferatu, with award-winning star of The Crown, My Policeman and Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Emma Corrin, set to join the ensemble in an undisclosed role.

Eggers is also writing and directing, with Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus producing.

Lily Rose-Depp, Bill Skarsgard and Nicholas Hoult are already on board for the main roles, and regular Eggers collaborator Willem Dafoe was recently added to the cast. Coincidentally, Dafoe actually played Count Orlock, aka Nosferatu, in 2000's black comedy/horror Shadow of the Vampire. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his chilling turn.

The Northman star Anya Taylor-Joy was originally in line for the female lead, but was forced to drop out due to a scheduling conflict. Harry Styles was also said to have read for the role of Hutter.

This latest take on the silent 1922 horror flick is described as "a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him."

No release date has been announced, but production is reportedly scheduled to get underway later this year.

@bobevanz - One of the all time greats already with only 3 movies under his belt. Hope he directs a superhero movie someday so he finally gets the recognition he deserves O_o

So I'm guessing:

Lily Rose-Depp as Ellen (Mina)
Bill Skarsgard as Orlok (Dracula)
Nicholas Hoult as Hutter (Harker)
Willem Dafoe as Bulwer (Van Helsing)
Emma Corrin as Ruth (Lucy)

@DalekCraigWasson - Dafoe really doesn't need a huge part to shine (see 'The Northman'). I could also easily see him as the Real-Estate agent Knock (and Hutter's boss) that sends him off to the land of ghosts to deliver the papers to Orlok. 🤓

Production was supposedly to have started sometime during the current month of February. I hope there hasn't been a delay.

I can enjoy the comic-book genre like any geek but, to be able to break-away occasionally from the CGI-orgies with a palate cleanser such as 'The Witch' or 'The Lighthouse' or (most recently) 'The Menu' with Ralph Fiennes is like a breath of fresh-air!

So, thank God for directors like Robert Eggers that are still in there taking their swings and producing examples of real cinema among today's increasingly bigger, louder and more ham-fisted computer generated junk-food franchises that dominate the modern-day movie scene. 🤓
