The next film in the iconic Child's Play series, Cult of Chucky, will begin production on 9 January 2017 for a Fall 2017 release date, just four years after the release of 2013's Curse of Chucky. Cult of Chucky will be released Unrated on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD, making it the second direct-to-video film in the franchise and the sixth sequel to the original. Don Mancini will serve as the executive producer, as David Kirschner and Ogden Gavanski produce the film. Other crew members consist of associate producer Tony Gardner, director of photography Michael Marshall, production designer Craig Sandells, and costume designer Patricia J. Henderson.

Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic “tool” to facilitate his patients’ group sessions — an all-too-familiar “Good Guy” doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s now-grown-up nemesis from the original CHILD'S PLAY, races to Nica’s aid. But to save her he’ll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.

I like that the original film gave me nightmares as a kid. Now it's become an ongoing joke that just won't die.

Stop funding this crap.

@SuperbatSpider1003 -
While I didn't like Curse, I was glad it made the series a serious horror franchise again after Bride and Seed made it silly.

This one has my interest, though. Cult of Chucky is supposed to be the culmination of all of the films so far. It's going to have Andy, the Bride of Chucky, and the protagonist from Curse. That should be interesting.

I remember as a kid (please dont launching at me. Lol) one day at a videostore I saw in a stand a poster from Chucky 2? (The one with the scissors) and as far as I know, I remember stick out my tongue to that poster. I had terrible nightmares that night, one of then was from a Ventriloquist doll! Lol :(
