ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP Adds OLD SCHOOL Star Luke Wilson In A Key Role
Sony Pictures' long-awaited Zombieland sequel, which has the entire cast of the original reprising their roles, has added another key piece in former Old School and Idiocracy star Luke Wilson.
Variety is reporting that Luke Wilson (Old School; Idiocracy) has joined the cast of Sony's Zombieland sequel in a key role, but details on his part are being kept under wraps for now.
He joins a cast headlined by Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Emma Stone (Wichita), and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock), who all reprise their roles from the 2009 classic. Fellow newcomers include Zoey Deutch (Set It Up), Ayan Jogia (Victorious), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), and Rosario Dawson (Daredevil).
Filming is currently underway with Ruben Fleischer (Venom), who helmed the first film, back in the director's chair. Original scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese also returned to pen the script.
While plot details are scarce, the film is said to follow our fan-favorite heroes as they deal with familial issues while facing off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved significantly since the previous installment and meet new human survivors along the way.
Zombieland: Double Tap is set to open in theaters on October 11.
