While
Iron Man 3 has not hit American theaters yet, I am seeing the film tonight for a midnight screening and will have my review up by thursday at the latest, anyway back to the important thing.
Iron Man 3 has received some really great reviews but there have also been some negative reviews, while the negative reviews are nitpicking a lot! the positive ones are well written and do not spoil much.
The Guardian
British news paper
The Guardian has given
Iron Man 3 4 out of 5 stars saying the film is
“smart, funny and spectacular.” The reviewer, Peter Bradshaw also praised Robert Downey Jr's performance in the film
"Stark now probably succeeds Chaplin as Downey’s key creation as an actor, loosing off funny lines with virtuoso skill, throwing away gags and delaying punchlines.”
MCM Buzz
MCM Buzz has given a mixed review, with the pendulum swinging more into negative territory. The site thought that it didn't live up to the hype of the previous film.
"As a whole Iron Man 3 is undeniably entertaining, but that didn’t stop me from leaving the film feeling a little disappointed and underwhelmed. Despite this I still enjoyed it and would certainly recommend that you go see it.”
French Premiere Magazine
French Premiere Magazine has said the film is the best of the saga, even beating out
Marvel's The Avengers . The magazine described the film as a
“spy thriller” and
“buddy movie” . The magazine also felt that the film helped give Tony Stark more
"more soul .
Blogbusters
The German site has given the film a positive review, but also pointed out it's flaws saying that the film "succeeds as a comic book movie sequel" but also said that "the first 30-45 minutes were boring" but the site then said it leads to a "spectacular finale".
The Void
The Void says that the movie is great and was made to please, they also said that "
Iron Man 3 is the sequel
Iron Man 2 should've been".
The BasingStoke Gazette
The BasingStoke Gazette has given the film huge amounts of praise saying that it succeeds on all levels.
"Not only is Iron Man 3 exciting and full of dream action sequences, it is smart, smart, smart, and will provide you with as many belly laughs as thrills and spills. In that sense, it is a more than worthy successor to Jon Favreau’s Iron Man (let’s forget Iron Man 2).”
And
Comic Book Movie's very own Mark Cassidy gave the film huge praise giving it 4 out of 5 stars, here's what Mark had to say (you can read Mark's review on the main page)
“A very entertaining action comedy, with maybe just a bit too much emphasis on the comedy for my liking. But while not reaching the heights of the first Iron Man, Shane Black’s film is a definite improvement on the second. A very good, if not quite great start to Marvel’s Phase 2. “
So who will be checking out
Iron Man 3 ? I'm ready, my tickets are bought and I'm currantly watching
Iron Man 1&2 .
