Iron Man Script Okayed by Studio

The Golden Avenger is jetting closer to the big screen.

David Hayter has reportedly sold New Line on his latest Iron Man script and the project may start early next year.

A director has yet to be chosen for the film but an IGN Insider says the script is very "Tom Clancy-esque" (referring to the popular spy novelist who wrote Red October among other books made into films). It reportedly involves a conflict between Tony Stark and his father Howard over Stark Industries. Iron Man's origin has been updated from his Vietnam roots as originally presented in Tales of Suspense.
