BOX OFFICE: JUSTICE LEAGUE Loses Thanksgiving Weekend To COCO But It's Not All Bad News

Justice League has slipped down to #2 during its second weekend of release and while you might think that's bad news for the DC Comics adaptation, the movie is actually performing better than expected.

Disney and Pixar's Coco has made good use of the Thanksgiving holiday as it earned $18.6 million on Friday for a three-day total of $48.3 million and an impressive five-day haul of $70.4 million. That puts it at #1 for both the weekend and holiday and that's not good news for Justice League. In just its second week of release, the DC Comics adaptation has slipped down to #2 at the domestic box office.

On Thanksgiving, the movie did much better than expected with a solid $8.5 million but that gap between Justice League and Coco widened on Friday when the movie scored just $16.4 million.

Now, the signs are pointing to a
second weekend haul of $40.9 million (a 56% drop which actually isn't bad at all) and a five-day total of $59.9 million. That takes its current domestic cume to $171.8 million. If it keeps making money at this rate, Justice League will make around $257 million in North America by the time all is said and done. Thor: Ragnarok is doing well too with a Thanksgiving total of $24 million!

Did you guys head to the
theater this weekend? If so, what did you see? Share your thoughts below.
