J.K. Simmons Talks JUSTICE LEAGUE Reshoots And Exploring A Weathered Jim Gordon In THE BATMAN

Justice League star J.K. Simmons reveals whether or not he had any sort of involvement with Joss Whedon's recent reshoots and looks ahead to what we should expect from Matt Reeves' The Batman...

It's been a while since we've heard any positive or negative rumours about Matt Reeves' Batman movie but it's thought that the plan is still for J.K. Simmons to return as Commissioner Gordon after making his DC Films Universe debut in Justice League. In the video below, the actor reveals that his role in the superhero ensemble is essentially a "don’t blink and you’ll miss it," so that probably means we won't spend much time with him beyond whatever happens on that rooftop we've seen in the trailers.

Simmons also confirmed that he did ADR last week so Warner Bros. is clearly still putting the finishing touches on the movie despite the fact that we've heard it was recently screened to test audiences.

The actor has also confirmed that he wasn't involved with any of the reshoots helmed by Joss Whedon and while he didn't reveal a whole lot about what's happening with The Batman, Simmons sounds excited to work with Ben Affleck again. "He’s obviously a talented filmmaker in addition to being the movie star that he is and the good actor that he is, which I think will continue to develop as we see Batman and Commissioner Gordon not be spring chickens and we get into some interesting stories about these weathered kinds of guys." When exactly we're getting those stories is still unclear.

Are you guys excited to see Simmons as Gordon in Justice League? Share your thoughts below.

The one thing about this movie I've never had any doubt about. It could be a steaming pile of dogshit, and I'm pretty sure Simmons will come out smelling like a rose.

Isn't it meant to be "blink and you'll miss it"?

@BlindWedjat - Normally, but what he said, "Don't blink or you'll miss it", still makes sense.

Wish he had a bigger role in JL, it's really a shame.

Side note, he was great in The Accountant, which is incredibly underrated.
Batman, Commish Gordan and Punisher all in one film, love it!

What if The Batman is set in a universe where Zack Snyder is a youtuber filming garbage he set on fire in his backyard that WB never hired and Flashpoint somehow takes us in this universe explaining the connected but not connected but a little bit connected but not really not all connected Goeff Jhons has been ranting about for a while ???

That'd be great

Brilliant casting. Never would have thought of it, but the man is a fantastic actor. Can’t really go wrong here.

Ben Affleck as Batman, J.K. Simmons as Com. Gordon and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. I'm psyched for whatever Reeves puts together with this talented cast. Fingers crossed we get Victor Fries as the villain.

Explore the theme of loss and how individuals go about dealing with it (Bruce's loss of his parents and protégés, Victor's loss of his wife and Com. Gordon's near loss of his daughter at the hands of The Joker).

@TheRealMandarin - perhaps Afflecks own mouth at Comic Con?
But then again that's not as reliable as that friend of a friend of a internet site.
