First they get our Marvel movies before us and now they get our superhero cartoons as well.

Justice League Action will kick things off in a major way, with a four-episode special titled Shazam Slam, which will see Shazam, Batman, The Wizard and Superman joining forces to take down Black Adam and escaped Djinn. The series (which breaksdown into  11-minute episodes similar to Teen Titans GO!) premieres on Friday, December 16 before airing in its regularly scheduled timeslot on Saturdays, beginning on Christmas Eve.  However, the show will debut a month earlier in the UK on November 26.

Other confirmed heroes set to appear on the show include Wonder Woman, Firestorm, Martian Manhunter, Mr. Terrific, Big Barda and more.  Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will reprise their longtime roles as The Dark Knight and the Joker, respectively.

Shazam Slam
' The villainous Black Adam battles Batman on the Rock of Eternity and unleashes a horde of Djinn determined to turn the Earth back to its pre-human, volcanic state. Affected by the otherworldly powers of these primordial monsters, Batman becomes possessed and is turned into a giant flying Batmonster laying waste to the Hall of Justice, with only Superman capable of taking the fight to the Dark Knight. One by one, the Justice League - with the help of Shazam (voiced by Sean Astin) and The Wizard (voiced by Carl Reiner) - must hunt down and defeat each Djinn in order to yet again save the world from destruction."

This looks like fun! Primarily for kids, obviously, but that's not inherently a bad thing. And I'll probably still give it a try.

Looks like something i can watch with the kiddos and i might like - I like the way the action is animated. Hopefully the stories are well crafted. The Batman Animated series is still one of the best.

"Affected by the otherworldly powers of these primordial monsters, Batman becomes possessed and is turned into a giant flying Batmonster laying waste to the Hall of Justice, with only Superman capable of taking the fight to the Dark Knight."

This makes me happy. For years, I've seen Superman become mind-controlled or become the bad guy that needs to be stopped by Batman. Now, it's as it SHOULD be: Batman being the bad guy for once and having to be stopped by Superman. Although, given the behavior patterns of this one, he'll likely just talk to him and use minimal force.

Sorry. I'm not usually one for in-universe dick-measuring, but due to my reading of comics like TDKR, Red Son, and this one comic in The New 52 I'm trying to find, I've grown increasingly tired of Batman winning against Superman for dumb, overplayed reasons. Hope this premise is as promising as it sounds...

@Shield23 - Did Superman kill Batman in Red Son?

@Valdez - No, Batman killed himself to avoid retribution from Superman...
