It's been about two years since the release of season one, but Warner Home Video has given a July 26, 2011 release date for the animated Justice League: Season Two.

Besides every action-packed episode of the second season, the Blu-ray includes the following special features:

Featurette: Justice League Declassified, Phil LaMarr (The voice of Green Lantern) takes you behind the scenes with the show's creative team.

Audio Commentary: Commentaries on 3 select episodes with the creators and directors of the series.

Easter Egg: A never seen before deleted scene with an introduction by producer Bruce Timm.

Why do they convert cartoons to Blu-Ray...you can't get any more detailed then it already is...

the higher resolution makes the animation lines crisper and the colours are sharper. no comparison between dvd animation and blu ray animation.

the mods at toonzone say they have spoken to WB and this will be 16:9 rather 4:3, which is amazing news :O)

About [frick]in' time! I almost bought it on DVD last night, now i am glad I didn't. I hate buying something only to replace it down the line. Instead I bought season three of Star Trek The Next Generation as it will never be available on Blu Ray.

A good buy on Star Trek TNG season 3, that's when the show got better. I own seasons 3-7 and may purchase the first 2 someday if I find them used for a good price.

I have the DVDs for JLU, but not the original JL.

I really wished the show never got cancelled I thought it was popular as hell, i still don't get why they cancelled it.

@ ABLEE337- Actually, a few of my all time favorite episodes of TNG are in season two, such as "The Measure of a Man" , where Captain Picard defends Data's rights as a being and the prosecuting attorney is Commander Riker. I love this Episode. Very smart sci fi. I have seasons 2, now 3, 4 and 5. When I am afraid of buying something on DVD because I know that at one point in time it will be released on Blu Ray, I just buy something Star Trek because it will never be released on Blu Ray, with the exception of Star Trek: TOS as it's already on Blu Ray and Star Trek: Ent which airs in HD on some channels meaning it will one day be released on Blu Ray.

"The Measure of a Man" is a great episode. One of my favorites too, but to me it really took off at season 3. I'll most likely buy season 2 before season 1.

Now to be on topic, I own all the JL & JLU on DVD, but I will buy the Blu Ray and give away my DVDs to a friend. Once you go HD, it's hard to go back.

I really hope, they soon release JLU and Young Justice on Blu Ray too. I have a feeling they will soon release them all on Blu Ray, specially if their planning for a Life Action Film. Anyone know how many Episodes season 2 has? Looks like it's only going to be on 2 discs, season 1 is 3.

If only Marvel could do cartoons as well as DC! I own all the "Superman: TAS" and "Justice League" seasons. I watch them regularly--that alone tells you how awesome they are.

@ icebergslick - What Star Wars buy? You mean your not waiting after the fact that George Lucas Re-re-re-release in all six movies in 3-D with hypersonic sound coming out in 2012? Cause I'm waiting for those in Blu-Ray.
