Justice League Doom is not the best animated feature from DC but its very close. The action in this movie is intense. The movie is only 77 minutes long, but the action takes up about 75 minutes. Bane is the best villain of the piece. What he does to Bruce Wayne is more shocking than breaking his back. That was the most memorable scene in the film for me. The rest of the Justice League are voiced by the original cast members from the TV show. Again Kevin Conroy steals the show as Batman. The return of the Legion of Doom headquarters is a nice surprise. I wasn't born when the Super Friends TV show aired, but I have seen some of the episodes now and thought the Legion of Doom was awesome. However the main villain of the piece is not so great. Vandal Savage is a character I have never heard of. He acts more like Ra's Al Ghul than anything. Like Ra's, Vandal also can not die. How dull. I had to look at IGN's review just to remember his name. Like I said, he is very forgettable. There are other side villains in the movie too (Cheetah, Metallo, Mirror Mask etc) but they are not given enogh screen time. What these villains do to the League is not as eye catching as Bane's confrontation with Bruce Wayne. The Royal Flush Gang returns and they are just great. The beginning is really strong, but the overall message that Batman secretly created a disc that has all of the Justice League's powers and weaknessess is hardly explored until the very end. That was the main purpose I thought of this story. DC packed the disc with some great bonus features, so check them out.
