New JUSTICE LEAGUE Promo Photo Brings Back Henry Cavill's Superman

Outside of the first promotional image released during last year's Comic-Con, Superman has been absent from all Justice League marketing material. Well, that changes with this latest promo photo...

Warner Bros. has today launched JoinTheLeague.com, a website which promises new content for Justice League in the coming weeks and months. To promote that, a poster has been released which features the team, though they're joined by Superman this time around. This is only the second time we've seen Henry Cavill's Man of Steel with the rest of the League and he fits in well. Sort of.

You may notice that while every other team member is walking towards the camera, what appears to be an old image of Superman has been used to unite him with the League. Could this be because he'll sport a very different look in the movie which is being kept under wraps? It's certainly possible and fan speculation points to the fan-favourite character wearing his black suit seen in the comic books.

Also below is the quad version of the recent Justice League poster, and if it wasn't for that text, it would make one heck of a wallpaper. As always, share your thoughts on this latest sneak peek below.

Superman... needs... his... black... suit!

@TheArkhamKnight - I think they are gonna hide that sucker until the movie is released. I am with you though. He needs the black suit, at least for a little while.

@TheArkhamKnight - no he doesn't. if he's supposed to resurrect as a symbol of hope, a BLACK suit is not the way to convey it, and neither is the mullet or the beard.

@Spidey91 - The point of the black suit is so he can absorb the sun's radiation at a faster rate so that he can recharge his power battery. Scientifically, it makes sense. Ultimately, he'll be back in his traditional colors. No way the black suit is anything but a temporary thing for the reasons previously mentioned. And fan service.

@Dabs - there's the in-universe logic of the black suit (a faster battery charger so to speak) and an aesthetic/marketing logic (dark suit ---> edgy and hip ---> "hey everybody, look, Superman is no longer a goody good boy scout, he wears black and has a beard, he's cool now, we swear!"). it was just a thing of the 90's, it should stay there. at least with Spiderman and the symbiote suit there's potential because that thing becomes its own character, I put that as an example of "edgy cool 90's stuff" that can still work nowadays with a few tweaks.

@TheArkhamKnight - superman died.. he shouldn't be in any promotional pics at all. They are literally spoiling the movie.

@Dajugrnot - they really should've saved doomsday and the death of superman for another movie.

@Dajugrnot - You're kidding, right? Spoiler Alert! Superman is in the movie!

@BravoBoss - Agree entirely, I think they should've had John Corben aka Metallo instead of Doomsday. Have him a be soldier who was critically injured during the events of MoS, his hatred leads him to sign-up to Luthor's super-soldier project so he can get a chance to go toe-to-toe with the man who ruined his life.

Not a huge fan of the marketing materials they've released for this film so far.

Wonder Woman promo on the other hand has been great!
