Paramount Reportedly Turned Down WB's Offer To Give Henry Cavill A CGI Moustache In MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6

Henry Cavill's mouth looks bizarre in Justice League and that's because Warner Bros. had to remove his moustache via VFX. Now, a new report sheds some light on why Paramount said no to a CGI replacement...

That VFX artist on Reddit continues sharing interesting new details about Justice League and the latest revolves around Henry Cavill's bizarre face in Justice League. Apparently, Warner Bros. offered to pay to have facial hair added to the actor's face via CGI when he returned to shoot Mission: Impossible 6 but Paramount Pictures declined despite Justice League's VFX team sending over some samples.

Simply put, it's easier to add hair than it is to remove it, something we've all learned after seeing Cavill's bizarre looking mouth in Justice League (it's passable in some scenes and horrendous in others).

Cavill said during the DC Comics adaptation's press tour that the stunts he does in Mission: Impossible 6 make it, well, impossible to have a moustache put on via CGI/prosthetics. It's a shame that the two studios couldn't come to some sort of agreement as Justice League definitely suffers because of this. However, it means that we've been able to figure out which scenes were Joss Whedon's reshoots!

Well yeah they don’t owe them a favor like that. Unfortunate situation though.

@TheUnworthyThor - Would've been nice to have cooperation and then WB owe Paramount a favor. I know that's not how business necessarily works, but such would not have been impossible.

Why couldn't they just shave his mustache and use a wigstache?

@Brave - According to this, apparently the stunts required makes a wigstache impossible. Which I don't get. What do these stunts involve? Rubbing his face on the badguys?

@Brave - Why would (Or should) Paramount compensate their movie for WB?

@xAdam - That might make sense for a prosthetic but not cgi, which would be the route they would go.

@CuddlyCereal - Because they would expect the same courtesy if the situation were reversed.
