Petition For Warner Bros. To Release Zack Snyder's Cut Of JUSTICE LEAGUE Nears 100,000 Signatures
As you've probably heard, a petition has started doing the rounds for Warner Bros. to release Zack Snyder's version of Justice League. With it nearing 100,000 signatures can the studio possible ignore it?
Following the tragic death of Zack Snyder's daughter, Joss Whedon took charge of Justice League. As well as writing and directing the movie's reshoots, he hired a new composer in the form of Danny Elfman and we ended up with a movie very different to the one Snyder intended on releasing.
We already know that the filmmaker ditched scenes fleshing out the pasts of Cyborg, Aquaman, and the Flash and as that footage exists out there somewhere, it's feasible we could get an extended cut, right? That's what many fans are hoping because they've signed a petition - which you can find by clicking here - for Snyder's director's cut to be released featuring a score by composer Junkie XL.
It's a nice thought but unrealistic. Those scenes with Aquaman are now being saved for his own movie and the same goes for Barry Allen and whatever the studio has planned for him in Flashpoint. Whedon also changed the entire foundation of the movie and a director's cut probably wouldn't make any sense as he left during the post-production process and is now unlikely to return to Warner Bros. to finish it.
Doing this would also cost Warner Bros. a lot of time and money and as Justice League is shaping up to lose them $50 million - $100 million, there's no way they'll commit to this. Still, if you'd like your voice to be heard and fancy signing the petition, feel free to do so and just wait and see what happens...
