Zack Snyder Confirms That If WB Greenlights JUSTICE LEAGUE, He Will Be Asked To Direct

In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, director Zack Snyder confirms that if Man of Steel is a box office success and Warner Bros. decides to make a Justice League film, he'll be asked to direct. Reading between the lines, that means Justice League fans need to $upport Man of Steel.

I've read this particular section in the latest issue of Empire Magazine a few times now and there appears to be a little wriggle room in the Snyders' response to the subject of a potential Justice League film. Director Zack Snyder (Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Man of Steel) and his Producer-wife, Deborah Snyder (Man of Steel) confirm in the latest issue of Empire that a Justice League film depends on the box office success of Man of Steel and if Warner Bros. decides to greenlight such a film, Zack will indeed be asked to direct it. Now they don't outright say that if the new Superman film is a success that automatically guarantees a Justice League film is coming, only that Justice League depends on Man of Steel; which is a statement that would hold true for any DC adaptation following in the film's wake. Also, they state that Zack will be asked to direct Justice League but don't specify whether he'll accept the job. However, the director did indicate some excitement about the chances of creating a DC cinematic universe, “I have a hard time having perspective. But I have to say that it is everything that I could have hoped for. Touch wood that I am not insane, but it feels really good," said Snyder.

Obviously, Snyder is remaining cautiously optimistic - you don't want to count your chickens before they hatch in this situation but the pre-release buzz for Man of Steel has all been incredibly positive thus far. With a purported production budget of $175M it's anyone's guess what the magic box office number for WB is that will lead studio execs to pull the trigger on whatever their post Man of Steel plans may be.

Get a writer and producer who knows what the f*ck they are doing, because Snyder is good at directing someone else's script.

@Levi: Get that shit music out of here.

Anyways, at least we know Justice League is going to be more substance than story now.

Well, I can't say it'll be more substance than story cause we don't know yet. But, they really should pick someone else to direct it. Give someone else a chance and have Snyder be there to help. Look at Whedon and The Avengers. Snyder should stick to Superman.

I still don't see the reasoning behind "waiting to see if Man of Steel is a hit or not" on making Justice League.. a definite big hit.. IF in the right hands! I mean, yeah, except for the batman and Superman movies, I have been less than happy about the DC movies. And recently, have loved the Marvel line of films.

Just because man of Steel is a bit hit, don't mean Justice league will be great IF it's in the wrong hands!!

Just focus on one movie, if you are not doing the "path to the big team up" like Marvel did, and knock our socks off.

Stop worrying about Man of Steel. (which I will love, simply because it looks fantastic.)

People have to remember though that we have no idea have Man of Steel will turn out. YES it looks amazing, but as the saying goes "looks can be deceiving". (It also didn't make fandango's Top 5)

We also have to remember that Snyder has made bad movies before I.E Sucker Punch. Watchmen was great to me, but it seems a lot of people didn't like that also.

So yes, even though nothing on this earth would me me more excited then a great JLA movie, I'm holding my breath for MoS. To me it looks like it can be one of, if not THE, greatest superhero movies ever made. But like I said, I'm waiting and seeing.

@Levi: I like rock music and it was a fan fic of a soundtrack for the Marvel Universe. Not the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kid Cudi is like Eminem which is like Lil Wayne which is shit like Justin Bieber and Katy Perry. Nickelback, Pop Evil, Shinedown, Creed, Skillet, ect is good music.

That being said, Man of Steel looks great but, I'm not putting any faith in Snyder.

Who would direct it? And does it mean that we would have to wait until Snyder is done with Justice League before we would get MOS2?

[frick]! I just want a goddamn Superman trilogy!

@Levi: I compared them cause they're crap. I grew up on rock music. You know, music that I can understand what they're saying. What's so great about Kid Cudi and all them other "talented" people called, Rappers? I don't get the hype.

I'm sorry but anyone who tries to deny Wayne's wit and ability to write is just in denial. You may not like his music and you may not like his beats but give credit where credit is due.

If they made a Justice League movie based on Justice League: Origin: Vol 1 (New 52), they'd have a massive hit on their hands. That comic book, while pretty vapid in terms of depth, was MADE to be adapted into a gigantic blockbuster. All I could think of the entire time while reading it, was "holy [frick] balls. This is an action movie!"

How will MOS be deemed a success? Doesn't it have a huge budget? I wonder what they deem a success...Not naysaying just a question.

I really hope they use Martian Manhunter. Gosh he has so much potential.

And Crossbones, you're taste in music stinks, don't ever compare kid cudi to Justin bieber
