ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE Actor Joe Manganiello Campaigns For A DEATHSTROKE HBO Max Series

Joe Manganiello had a small, but memorable role in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and the actor has now taken to Twitter to share a new look at his take on Deathstroke while campaigning for a HBO spinoff.

True Blood alum Joe Manganiello made his debut as Deathstroke in the post-credits scene of Justice League when it was released in theaters in 2017, and was finally given the chance to reprise the role for the "Snyder Cut" of the movie's divisive epilogue sequence.

It was only a very brief appearance, but we know there were big plans for Slade Wilson in the DCEU at one point (he was going to be the main villain of Ben Affleck's version of The Batman), and Manganiello is clearly eager to play the character again.

The actor has already shown his support for the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement, and has now taken to Twitter to share a new look at his "Knightmare" take on Wilson along with the hashtag #DeathstrokeHBOMax.

There's been speculation that he might be teasing an already in-development show, but it seems more likely that he's simply trying to drum up some support on social media. Either way, it'd be a shame if Manganiello was never given the opportunity to really sink his teeth into this role.

In Zack Snyder's Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes.

Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Tell us, have you watched ZSJL yet? If so, what did you think? You can check out my review HERE.

@WakandaTech - Wonder Woman, flash, aquaman, suicide squad, and future dceu films are all related to Snyder. Snyder is unofficially the Feige of the dceu

@Mrtoke -
Um, that was the original intent until the execs realized that he wanted to turn the whole of DC into Watchmen with an Ayn Rand twist. They hired James Gunn because he is the Anti-Snyder fun of hope and fun and color and heroics and fun - did I say fun? Was there anything even remotely fun about any of his movies? I'm digging hard and I can't bring up a scene where it was just fun. His missteps set the DCEU back a decade at least. I believe that you don't get credit for the thing that the company who parted ways with you is running away from as fast as they can.

Nice try though.

JL was atrocious and Snyder Cut was an improvement, which is to say, still very bad.

I'm [frick]ing tired of hearing about this 4 year old movie and I resent it for the fact that we had to hear about the Snyder Cut campaign for years, and now people want Ayer Cut, Deathstroke solo, etc. When will this shit end? Let it go people.

What's next, Eisenberg campaigning for a Luthor Granny's Peach Tea Cut?

This shit needs to stop

@PicolasCage - when will it end is an intellectually lazy slippery slope argument. the answer is always somewhere

@PicolasCage - I don't understand why you guys that dislike the Snyderverse complain so much. I thought ZSJL was a vast improvement but still sloppy and lacking, but im not against more Snyderverse content.

WB vary clearly stated moving forward they would focus on a multiverse of stories, its already confirmed we are getting non Snyderverse content, we've already had 3 DC films either trying to take the Snyderverse in a different direction or unaffiliated entirely (Joker), another non Snyderverse film just wrapped filming (The Batman) and they have every intention of moving on.

If the Snyderverse lingers on from here it won't be as the primary focus, it will be along side other projects, so why not let the very vocal fans of the Snyderverse get their desired stuff too?

If the worst thing to continue on from the Snyderverse is a Deathstroke HBO MAX show I say we got off light. I see nothing wrong in the Snyderverse continuing in some capacity so long as we also move forward, which is what is happening now.

I don't get the hate. I mean, I do... but to the extent it thrives on this site...

@WakandaTech - Deathstroke had like 30 seconds of screen time in an end credit scene. Rumlow was in 2 movies, we saw him before his transformation and after. He had fleshed out motivations for hating Steve Roger's and had an arc that ended with his death playing a major part in the Sacovia Accords.

Hardly the same. Rumlow was such a character I know him better as Rumlow than Crossbones. Deathstroke was a cameo. I can understand one actor feeling fulfilled and the other not.
