Warner Bros. stopped Zack Snyder from adding John Stewart to his Snyder Cut of Justice League, but actor Wayne T. Carr has now shared some photos of the work he did on the set the filmmaker's driveway...

Zack Snyder added Martian Manhunter to his cut of Justice League during last year's final round of reshoots, and while he appeared in two scenes (his transformation outside Lois Lane's apartment and that final meeting with Bruce Wayne), it was only supposed to be one.

The filmmaker wanted to use John Stewart in the epilogue, and even filmed the character's scenes with actor Wayne T. Carr. Unfortunately, Warner Bros. stepped in and pushed for that Green Lantern not to be used because the studio had plans for him elsewhere. That's probably the Green Lantern Corps movie, with the thinking being that having the hero debut in the Snyder Cut would have lessened the impact of his eventual arrival on the big screen.

As a result, Martian Manhunter replaced Stewart, and Carr's scenes were left on the cutting room floor.

Now, though, the actor has shared some photos from his time working on Zack Snyder's Justice League, and as you can see, he really did shoot Green Lantern's scenes on the director's driveway! Unfortunately, as special effects were going to be used to create John's costume, we only see a mo-cap suit here. We also probably shouldn't bank on his scenes ever being finished and released.

However, should Snyder get to make his sequels, then perhaps Carr will be able to reprise this role!

Regardless, you can check that out his Green Lantern thanks to some concept art from the movie.

@Odin - casts green lantern, reveals martian manhunter THEN kills them off in the next movie. The definition of manipulative fan service.

@MadThanos - I would have cringed at that too if Zack hadn’t have done that a few times with good results. Zod’s battle armor was wall CG and a few Superman shots were complete CG suit recreations and not just color retouched in ZSJL so I think it would have turned out fine

@Ha1frican - am I the only one now learning Zods suit was CG? Thats like learning the Endgame Quantum suits were cg.

@Ha1frican - on top of that, remember the reason for the 2011 green lantern suit looking as poor as it did was because they redesigned it and didn't push the release date to polish the new look.

Snyder's love of casting random actors for big parts.

Didnt he say he also say Trevante Rhodes was his choice for Stewart?

Manhunter looked like a cut scene from the 360.

Wonder if snyder paid him out of his own pocket or if he used the 70 million warner brothers gave him to finish the effects. If he used the 70 million, guess he stole money from the studio and more reason to ditch him

Probably would have felt as shoehorned as martian manhunter, with no proper setup or anything it would be weird to see a green lantern reaching out to batman. And I don't like being that guy, but releasing this after the green lantern tv series casting announcement seems too on the nose.
