ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE Merchandise Teases Plans For Green Lantern In The "Snyder Cut"

ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE Merchandise Teases Plans For Green Lantern In The "Snyder Cut"

Some newly revealed merchandise for Zack Snyder's Justice League includes Green Lantern's logo, a hint that we will indeed see the character at some point in the long-awaited "Snyder Cut" of the movie.

There have been rumblings for a while now that Green Lantern might appear in Zack Snyder's Justice League, but which one? We know that Yalan Gur is part of the flashbacks to Uxas and Steppenwolf's attack on Earth, and while he'll likely have an extended role in the "Snyder Cut," is it enough to justify including his logo alongside characters like Superman and Batman on official merch?

That's a question a lot of fans are asking today, because a sticker sheet for sale (with a tonne of other goodies) on Ink to the People includes that iconic Green Lantern shield.

Snyder could have secretly cast a character like Hal Jordan, Sinestro, or John Stewart for this version of Justice League, especially as we know reshoots already added Jared Leto's Joker. If that was possible, then bringing in a member of the Green Lantern Corps isn't outside the realm of possibility.

We probably shouldn't get too excited, but Martian Manhunter's logo is there, and we know that hero will have a small, but key role in the plot. Snyder is definitely throwing everything into his Justice League movie, and you can't blame him for that when this looks to be his only chance to tell the story of these iconic DC Comics superheroes in the way he always wanted to.

Don't forget, you can check out that blockbuster new trailer by clicking here.

10. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2's Rumoured Villain

RU1

Work is currently underway on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, and while we're confident that Spider-Man 2099 will show up, not much beyond that has been revealed about the plot.

Well, this week we were treated to a rumour claiming that The Spot will be one of the key villains. He debuted in the pages of Spectacular Spider-Man, and is a fitting choice (especially as his powers could easily tie into Miles Morales' future trips through the Multiverse Spider-Verse).

Click here to find out more about this rumour.

9. A New Trailer For Superman & Lois

RU12

Superman & Lois is fast approaching, and this week, The CW released a new trailer for the highly anticipated series. It once again looks vastly different to anything else we've seen from the ArrowVerse The CWVerse, but that's certainly not a bad thing, especially given how cinematic the footage is.

As you'll see, Clark Kent's decision to reveal that he's secretly Superman doesn't sit well with his two sons after they realise he's spent years lying to them. General Sam Lane doesn't look best pleased, either, but the Man of Steel really looks set to have his hands full with a mysterious, armoured baddie.

Watch the trailer for The CW series by clicking here.

8. The Last Of Us TV Series Finds Its Joel And Ellie

RU123

Despite rumours that Blade star Mahershala Ali would play Joel in HBO's small screen adaptation of The Last of Us, we learned this week that The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal will take on that role.

As for Ellie, Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) is set to play the smuggler's surrogate daughter. Both casting decisions are fantastic, and we're sure they'll do the game justice when it premieres.

More details can be found in the original post.

7. Sony Offers Keanu Reeves Kraven The Hunter's Lead Role

RU1234

Like it or not, Sony Pictures continues to develop its own slate of Marvel movies. Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius are on the way, while Kraven the Hunter (which is set to be directed by J.C. Chandor) shouldn't be too far behind. We know very little about the creative direction the character is being taken in, but it was claimed this week that the studio is zeroing in on the movie's lead star!

That's said to be The Matrix 4 and John Wick star Keanu Reeves, a surprise choice, but one which makes sense given the sort of talent Sony Pictures has managed to attract to the SPUMC thus far.

It's since been said that Reeves passed on the role, and you can find that story here.

6. Joss Whedon Hit With Abuse Claims

RU12345

Justice League star Ray Fisher has made a series of damaging allegations about Joss Whedon, and while he's never got specific about what happened during those reshoots, it didn't sound good.

We've heard rumblings about the filmmaker in the past, of course, but things were taken to a whole new level this week. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel star Charisma Carpenter issued a shocking statement on social media, and that opened the floodgates to a new wave of claims.

Whedon has yet to respond, but this has put The Avengers helmer in an extremely negative light.

More on these disturbing allegations can be found here.

5. Comic Accurate Quicksilver In WandaVision

RU123456

This week's episode of WandaVision was inspired by Malcolm in the Middle, and put the spotlight on Evan Peters as Quicksilver. Of course, we still don't know if that's actually who he is, and Marvel Studios dropped plenty of clues, and left us with even more questions, this past Friday.

Regardless, the actor did a phenomenal job in the role, and seeing him don that comic accurate Halloween costume - hair and all - was an undeniable highlight of this week's instalment.

Head over to the original post to take a look at Evan Peters as Quicksilver.

4. Black Panther's New Lead Revealed?

RU1234567

We know that T'Challa won't be recast following the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman, but rather than putting Erik Killmonger, M'Baku, or Shuri (a definite fan-favourite choice) beneath the Black Panther helmet, it seems Marvel Studios may have plans to introduce a whole new character.

That's said to be Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page, but who will he play? The obvious suggestion is Kasper Cole; created by Christopher Priest and Dan Fraga, he's best known as White Tiger, but has also held the Black Panther mantle. We'll have to wait and see if this one pans out, though.

Click here for more details on this surprise rumour.

3. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Trailer

RU12345678

The Super Bowl wasn't quite as exciting as usual this year, with most studios deciding to give the event a miss due to the uncertainty surrounding theatrical released in 2021. That doesn't affect streaming titles, of course, hence why The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was put front and centre!

In this thrilling preview, we got a much better idea of what to expect...and it's clear Sam and Bucky really don't like each other. We took a deep dive into the footage in our in-depth breakdown

Watch this action-packed sneak-peek here.

2. Justice League's Joker Revealed

RU12345679

Jared Leto will return as The Joker in Zack Snyder's Justice League, but he'll have a very different look. Those silly tattoos from Suicide Squad have been scrapped, and the Clown Prince of Crime looks more deranged and menacing than ever before (fitting as he'll be part of the "Knightmare" scenes).

"The cool thing about the scene is that it's Joker talking directly to Batman about Batman," Snyder teased this week. "It's Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That’s the thing I also felt like fans deserved from the DC Universe. That is to say, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It seemed uncool to me that we would make it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together."

Find out more from Snyder, and see the photos, in our original article.

1. No More Cara Dune In The Mandalorian

RU123456791

Gina Carano has come under fire for controversial comments on social media for a while now, but comparing Republicans to Jewish people in World War II, and sharing more anti-mask messaging, was the straw that broke the camel's back for Disney. Now, she's been fired from The Mandalorian

It's not surprising, but it is disappointing; while Carano is entitled to her opinions, sharing such extreme, conservative views online was never going to end well, and she's gone from nearly having her own series and being a role model to young girls to being a disgraced star no one will want to work with. Who knows what led to Carano self-destructing, but this doesn't feel like a huge loss.

Carano's response to this news (it's a shocker!) can be found right here.

@RageDriver2401 - Are we supose to take that in a good way or a bad way?
dracula

You know, putting aside Snyder's misunderstanding of the DC characters, Snyder fan boys do know it would be stupid for him to return to DC after this right?

He has no ownership of these characters and is not entitled to full creative control. Snyder has his zombie movie on netflix that is also getting a prequel and an anime. He has a potential franchise that he would be entitled to control over as it's creator.

Movies take years to develop, Snyder would have to be an idiot to leave that franchise for something he does not own.

That car is sitting in the driveway and Zach is behind the wheel going “vroom vroom” but the engine is off and he doesn’t have the key.
elgaz
elgaz - 2/15/2021, 1:48 AM
@dracula - I don't think there's any plans for him to return, has there been an element of the fanbase clamouring for this? Snyder himself seemed to infer in a recent interview that this was a one-off and unlikely to lead to further DC movies.
dracula
dracula - 2/15/2021, 1:51 AM
@elgaz - Have you been reading the comments, yeah despite Snyder saying he has no plan to return, his followers still seem to demand he get to make his 5 movie plan (which he is not entitled to)
dracula
dracula - 2/15/2021, 1:53 AM
@Goldboink - yeah pretty much.

Seriously Snyder fans should just be grateful they got this cut, plenty of actual great shows and movies have been cut short and the fans have never been this crazy
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 2/15/2021, 1:56 AM
@dracula - a franchise were he has control over his own original characters would probably work best, so I kinda hopes he sticks with that
dracula
dracula - 2/15/2021, 2:01 AM
@bkmeijer - exactly, there he can tell whatever story he wants with whatever characterization he wants and wont be messing up other people's creations. Personally wont be watching any of it (he and shyamalan are on my black list), but yeah tell his own story, cant be worst than Sucker Punch. Maybe it will change some people's mind on him, maybe it wont, either way his fans should be happy

GwenLantern
GwenLantern - 2/15/2021, 2:43 AM
@inkniron - Well he did the same with EVERY OTHER MEMBER of the Justice League that wasn't Superman, so why not?

Seriously, even the Wonder Woman and Aquaman solos came after Snyder shoe-horned them in. He's like an over-excited date rapist. Take it slow Zack, buy us dinner first at least.
GwenLantern
GwenLantern - 2/15/2021, 2:53 AM
Snyder:
"Okay, so here's my idea for a cinematic universe"

"The first movie is a Superman origin movie..."

"And the second movie is Death of Superman, Dark Knight Returns, the introduction of all the Justice League characters and a Flash time-travel thing with a post-apocalyptic New Gods/Injustice Mad Max Batman."

Whether you like the Whedon cut or the Snyder cut, lap it up cuz you won't be getting another live action Justice League with this scale in another 20-30 years.

I actually liked the trailer even without the Lantern although it would been better with him and without the Joker, especially this version. I think aside from Nolan’s Batman trilogy and the first WW this is easily the best thing that’s come out of WB DC.
