ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE: Steppenwolf Decimates The Amazons In Brutal New Black-And-White Footage

The first, full trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League will be with us this weekend, and the director has now given fans a teasing glimpse of Steppenwolf facing off against the Amazons on Themyscira...

Zack Snyder has taken to Vero to share some new footage from his upcoming director's cut of Justice League, and it teases an alternate take on the Battle of Themyscira.

We saw Steppenwolf make his way to Wonder Woman's homeland to retrieve one of the Mother Boxes in the theatrical cut, but it looks like this version of the sequence will play out a little differently - and quite a bit more brutally - as the redesigned villain lays waste to a legion of Amazons while being peppered with arrows.

It's interesting that Snyder says he's "working on the Justice is Gray edition" of the movie. The filmmaker has previously stated that hid ideal version would be presented in black-and-white, so perhaps he's been given the opportunity to work on yet another re-release?

In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes.
Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Zack Snyder's Justice League is set to premiere on HBO Max on March 18, with a new trailer scheduled for this Sunday.

I still don't understand what is going to be different about this film? All it seems is that the deleted scenes are being worked back into the cut and the inclusion of Uxas in the opening war montage.

@SonOfAGif - The main thing is Snyder listened to fan wishes and is trying to add them to the movie.

@SonOfAGif - yeah not like replacing Steppenwolf with Darkseid in one scene is going to make anything better

@SonOfAGif -
I am not the biggest fan of what Zack Seiter did to these characters but if I was making a movie and 90% of what I shot was thrown out, I’d be pretty stoked to be able to have my version released.

@SonOfAGif - Supposedly 90% of it will be unseen footage. I imagine its the same basic story, just shot differently.

@MosquitoFarmer -
There is a great documentary about the movie floating around. I saw it on Prime. Did you know that Harold Ramis was originally set to direct and Mr. Tool Time was not the first choice to play the Captain.

This movie was meta before it was cool to be meta.

@Goldboink - Pretty solid doc! Apparently, Tim Allen is a secret sci-fi nut, which was a surprise to me! Probably explains why he was Buzz Lightyear for so long.

Kind of the opposite of his grunting stand up persona but I can see it.

Yea, lack of color is what drew me to comics as a kid.

@RitoRevolto - Don't you know? Making things black and white automatically makes them more artistic!

@Shroombeast - The repetitive school of Snyder has taught me a lot about art in recent years.
