New Details About Matthew Vaughn's Big And Small Screen Plans For The KINGSMAN Franchise Revealed

As Matthew Vaughn continues working on developing the "Kingsman Universe," a new report sheds some light on what the filmmaker has planned for both the sequel, prequel, and TV spinoff. Take a look...

Kingsman: The Golden Circle was considered something of a disappointment after the amazing Kingsman: The Secret Service but it still performed well at the box office and both Fox and Matthew Vaughn are now forging ahead with expanding the franchise.

Now, Collider is reporting that the next Kingsman movie - which is set to be a prequel - will begin shooting in London in January. It's described as a "period drama" as opposed to an action movie and it will show world history through the eyes of the Kingsmen. Apparently, a tagline of sorts is being thrown around to describe this prequel and that's, "The man who would be Kingsman."

The site also mentions that Vaughn is currently writing a third instalment in the main series which will shoot shortly after the aforementioned prequel.

That will wrap up the stories of Eggsy and Harry but the door is going to be left open for both Taron Egerton and Colin Firth to return somewhere down the line, possibly in some of the other Kingsman projects being developed by the filmmaker. One of those could be the TV series which will reportedly be nothing like what we're expecting.

Intriguing, eh?

Time to move on Matt Vaughn. The first was great, the second had some great visuals but the cast was wasted and it wasn’t all that funny when it was trying to be.

The American Kingsman had awesome potential...

@regularmovieguy - For real though. I was so disappointed with the second one.

@L0RDbuckethead

I call it getting high on your own supply.

Huge bummer. There was another sequel that summer that I thought had some of the same issues as Kingsman 2. But I would def prefer to watch it over Kingsman 2 any day, probably.

Godamn shouldn't have botched the first one. Killing most of the kingsman off in the second movie aint a good way to start a trilogy.

"The Kingsmen Universe"......WHAT?????? I mean the first movie is great and as for R Rated comic book movies are concerned I rank it higher than the first Deadpool (Blade 2 is still my jam) but I dont think this series has legs to go that long or that range in terms of world building.

Vaughn is a good to great Origins Story Teller. Can he tell strong and entertaining stories outside the “origin” narrative? Remains to be seen.

@BlackBeltJones - I love how this dude ditches sequels to films we actually want to see (DOFP), but the first time he makes a sequel, not only is it arguably his worst film by far, but then he just doubles down on that shit and is like, here's a Kingsman prequel, a kingsman sequel, a kingsman show, and a Kingsman spinoff, BITCH!

Second was trash. Wish they would've left it alone after the first, which was amazing.
