The first two Kingsman movies, Kingsman: The Secret Service and Kingsman: The Golden Circle, left a lasting impression, and the plan now is to explore the organisation's past in The King's Man

With a whole new cast of actors and characters, it looks like this will be a very different experience, and we get better acquainted with all of them in a new sneak peek and set of posters. While we'd have liked to see Eggsy and Harry's stories continue in a Kingsman 3, that movie is supposedly still in development, and the events of this origin story could inform the threequel in some ways.

While filmmaker Matthew Vaughn has ambitious plans for the property (including spinoffs and TV shows), there was speculation that this prequel could be offloaded to a streaming service ahead of its planned release. Instead, Disney decided to stay the course, and multiple release date delays followed.

Despite that, there's still a lot of excitement for The King's Man, and it looks like it could be a fun ride.

In the movie, as a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Matthew Vaughn returns to the director's chair with a cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.

The King's Man is currently set to be released in theaters on December 22, 2022.

This looks amazing.

I enjoyed No Tome To Die but it reinforced my feelings of how there’s no fun in Bond anymore and how Kingsman said: “Look, if James Bond doesn’t want to have any [frick]ing fun with this genre anymore, and realize how ridiculous and redundant it can be, then fine we will do it.”

Kingsman 2 went too far with this intention, but this film looks like it’s back in the first Kingsman vibe. It looks equally fun and ridiculous as it is tense, without losing a sense of weight.
