5. Jacon Batalon Shares His Reaction To Spider-Man 3 Script
As you may have heard, Spider-Man 3 star Jacon Batalon has dropped a tonne of weight, and he looks amazing. Recently, he arrived in Atlanta, Georgia to start shooting the movie, and recently took to his Instagram stories to share his reaction after reading the screenplay for the first time.
In the video above, we see him end the video with a "No!" after placing his hand over his mouth in shock. The actor is clearly having fun here, but you can't help but wonder what he's read!
4. Orange Is The New Black Star Jolene Purdy Has A Role In WandaVision
Deadline recently ran a story about a new HBO limited series called The White Lotus, revealing in a throwaway comment that Orange is the New Black star Jolene Purdy is part of WandaVision.
She reportedly wrapped a recurring role in the Disney+ series fairly recently, though there's sadly no news on who she's playing. The actress could be a comic book character or a newly created S.W.O.R.D. agent; we simply don't know at this point, but Purdy is talented, so this is definitely good news.
With the show now believed to be heading our way in December, we'll find out much more soon.
3. Marvel Studios Didn't Want Matthew McConaughey As The Hulk
The Gentlemen star Matthew McConaughey was recently a guest on Joshua Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast. During that, he was asked about his interest in playing The Hulk, and it sounds like he may have once pushed to star in that TV show Guillermo del Toro was producing for Marvel.
Horowitz: You never got your chance to play Bruce Banner, or David Banner in the show, did you?
McConaughey: No, I didn’t.
Horowitz: Jerks.
McConaughey: Wanted it.
Horowitz: Really?
McConaughey: Yep.
Horowitz: Did you throw your hat in the ring? Did you say, 'I’m game, if you guys are?'
McConaughey: Yep.
Horowitz: No kidding?
McConaughey: They said, 'No, thank you.'
Regardless of what project McConaughey wanted to get involved in, Marvel Studios may have made a big mistake not taking a risk on him given how well his career has gone in recent years.
2. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Funko Pops Leak
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was supposed to arrive on Disney+ back in August, but shooting only just finished thanks to COVID-19, and we now don't know when we'll get to check it out.
However, some merchandise from the show has leaked online today revealing a new look at the two title characters and the villainous Baron Zemo...well, in Funko Pop form. Not much is revealed here, but Bucky is looking rather clean cut, and Sam Wilson is still making use of Redwing.
Unfortunately, we don't know when these go on sale, but WandaVision Pops are coming this year.
1. Moon Knight Casting News
The Direct has shared a casting call for four new characters coming to Moon Knight, and they're all set to be played by Egyptian actors and actresses (meaning we'll likely get to explore Marc Spector's past as a mercenary in the country in a big way). They're not overly specific, unfortunately, but one is described as female lead between in the age range of 20s - 30s.
She's described as, "Egyptian, strong, intelligent and self-sufficient, she's always two steps ahead." As for the other characters, the first is, "Female, All ages, Egyptian, fun, witty and lovable."
The next is, "Male, All ages, Egyptian, dignified and powerful," and the final can be either gender: "Male/Female, All ages, Egyptian, eccentric with a sharp wit and interesting physicality."
We're bound to get more casting in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
