The first Thunderbolts* movie went over pretty well with fans and critics, but it didn't exactly make a big impact at the box office. Even so, it seems Marvel Studios might be planning a sequel - featuring an all-new team.
The original roster, aka the "New Avengers," will return in Avengers: Doomsday, but The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez hints that a potential sequel could introduce a new team of actual villains (or reformed villains), including Daredevil: Born Again's Bullseye (Wilson Bethel).
In the comics, the first incarnation of the Thunderbolts were former members of the Masters of Evil, recruited by Baron Zemo to pose as heroes after The Avengers and The Fantastic Four were seemingly killed by Onslaught.
We haven't seen the MCU's Zemo (Daniel Brühl) since The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so this would be a great opportunity for Marvel to bring a fan-favorite character back to the screen.
MTTSH has heard that Frank Castle and Songbird will also appear.
Though this won't come as a major surprise, Perez has also heard that there is "some stuff" in the works for the Man Without Fear, the rest of The Defenders, and The Daughters of the Dragon after Daredevil: Born Again concludes with its upcoming third season.
As for Marvel Television's mysterious Zodiac spy thriller, Perez says the show will be "partially" connected to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and may take place across multiple timelines.
When asked about the possibility of seeing Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, in the fifth Spider-Man movie, Perez said: "I know that Sony has toyed around the idea of incorporating Black Cat into live-action for a while now, but not MCU-related. Since then, there haven’t been any talks about her."
We haven't heard much about which supporting characters are expected to feature in the X-Men reboot, but Knight Edge Media's Caleb Williams recently claimed that Moira MacTaggert will appear in a "tiny role," and is now reporting that Renate Reinsve (Backrooms) has met with Marvel about the role (whether anything came of it is unclear).
Making her comic book debut in the mid-'70s, MacTaggert was introduced as a geneticist and expert in mutant affairs. The character was traditionally depicted as a human love interest for Professor Xavier, but her origin was significantly altered in 2019, revealing her to be a mutant with the ability to "redo" her life every time she died.
Staying with the X-Men, Perez doesn't expect to see Colossus in the first movie.
