WEREWOLF BY NIGHT: Disney+ Reveals A New Poster For The Upcoming Halloween Special

On the paws of yesterday's D23 trailer, Disney+ has unveiled some new poster art for the upcoming Werewolf By Night Halloween Special, which stars Gael García Bernal as the titular lycanthropic anti-hero.

We got a first look at some footage from Marvel Studios' Werewolf By Night during yesterday's D23 presentation via a bizarre, surprisingly gory trailer, and Disney+ has now debuted some new poster art for the upcoming Halloween Special.

While the likes of Moon Knight and the Doctor Strange movies have included horror elements, Werewolf By Night looks like it's going to be Marvel Studios first full-on foray into the genre. The black-and-white teaser gives of an old-school, grindhouse creature feature vibe, as a group of monster hunters come to realize that a member of the team is one of the very beasts they've been pursuing.

We get a glimpse of Gael Garcia Bernal as Jack Russell, Laura Donnelly as Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, and more. Russell is not shown fully transformed, but the poster might give is a better idea of the werewolf design they're going with.

During the presentation, director Michael Giacchino said that his take on Werewolf By Night was inspired by horror movies from the 1930s and '40s. The composer also compared the special to Tobe Hooper's Poltergeist, adding that it will have "the right level of scares."

Though very little has been officially revealed about this "Special Presentation," based on what we see here, there's a very good chance the extensive plot leak that did the rounds earlier this year was accurate.

Werewolf By Night will premiere on Disney+ just in time for Halloween on October 7.

It being so branded as a ''Marvel Studios Special Presentation'' with it's own logo and all, makes me think we'll get a whole bunch of specials in the future

Looks like a tattoo stencil. With that being said, I'm glad the trailer did a damn fine job of capturing the sport of classic horror films.

@AmazingFILMporg - I also feel like the Horror Genre has seen a sudden resurgence thats very fresh too for the genre. Nope was fun. Halloween Ends looks way better than Halloween Kills. V/H/S is getting a sequel to the reboot that was surprisingly good. Werewolf by Night looks really good. October is going to be a great month for Spooky Season.

One hour specials would be a great way to introduce new characters and flesh out existing ones.... Cheaper than a series or movie, or could be shot concurrently with a movie like the gotg Xmas special. They could replace the one shot and give them to us monthly. Imagine twelve monthly specials introducing the X-Men and their history directly prior to the first movie, and it could all be shot together

@Fares -

Marvel studios is the only studio in the genre that gives you the most variety.

All they're missing is a rated R film and that's coming soon💪

@AmazingFILMporg - I'm not sure if I personally agree with that first statement in regards to the MCU in general, but I really think they spiced things up with phase 4 in particular, and that's the thing I like most about it.

Most phase 4 projects have had some small hints of style in them, but things like Wandavision, Eternals, and Ms. Marvel really took that to a whole new level, and now Werewolf by Night is continuing the trend.

It might even be my most anticipated MCU project right now behind Blade, and I didn't even know that the character even existed before this.

It goes to show that the popularity/obscurity of the source material, or even its non-existence is irrelevent in the face of a good vision executed well. And I hope that's the case when it drops

Winter soldier does not feel like like gotg. They have been doing it for awhile.

But we agree for the most part. Phase 4 is marvel having [frick] you money and they are getting experimental.💪

love how unique this looks, and this is just a tiny piece of the supernatural spectrum of Marvel in the MCU can't wait for more. So glad they got Gael for this.

Now imma hang that on my wall, that's one terrific poster.
