Avengers scribe Brian Michael Bendis says fans shouldn't hold their breath for the Avengers DVD.

Avengers comic writer Brian Michael Bendis told USA Today that the planned Avengers straight-to-DVD animated film is on hold.

"We own all the comic-book characters, but different studios own their film rights. An Avengers movie would cost $700 million," says Bendis.
