How does the art look "god awful"? This may not be exceptionally good art, but it's certainly above god awful.

DBech@ I have to agree completely!

I love anything with Steve Rogers attached to it but MY God that art work is horrible! Probably going to have to pass on this one!

First of all Secret Avengers is the best Marvel book going right now. Why is this necessary?

And CAPTAIN AMERICA & the Secret Avengers? Its Steve Rogers, he's isn't Cap anymore, Bucky is. Marvel made it very clear that Bucky is now Cap. What was the point of making Bucky the new Captain America if they're just going to keep calling Steve Rogers Cap? This pisses me off.

This is just Marvel trying to cash in, thats all.

I have to agree here with the majority...art work is piss-poor. And im not digging that new Capt America look without the cowl.

& if you exclude the last comic strip that has steve rogers...you would think that Sex in the City came out with a comicbook.

The artwork is alright, but they're not going to attract too many readers with preview pages as boring as that, lol! :P

The top image makes their faces look like they are in the middle of a transformation into a vampire or something. Meh...

So.......on the cover...........they're like, what? 60? They look like really-in-shape 60 year olds.

i'm still pissed they're calling Steve Rogers Captain America in this. what the fork?

Either Bucky is Cap, or Steve is Cap. They can't both be Cap.

intruder: some great questions. I don't know if I'd insult elementary-school kids like that, though! Why DO we need so many Avengers books anymore? One is plenty, maybe two at the absolute most. It's not bad enough how expensive books are now, every character or team has to have three or four books. Re-gawdam-diculous. Love the line about calling Joe Q a fat turd. Might be insulting to fat turds, though. LOL

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this art is bad. Bad art is another result of Marvel printing too damn many titles. There are only so many truly talented comic artists out there at any given time, and they can only do so much. The companies need to go hire these hacks to draw up the rest of their bloated product lines to keep them going.

Holy shit that art is horrible, it might be just me but when the art is bad I can't sit through and read the whole thing, huge turn off.

Yikes! Those chicks look like dudes! Not very good art. And that second to last shot of Steve Rogers... yeah, he looks kind of effeminate with that pose: "Let me check my shopping list girlfriend! Ouh! There's a sale on tight pans!"

Still not sure about this Bucky Barnes/Captain America thing. I like the new costume, but it just doesn't make sense to me what's happened with Steve Rogers. I get the whole idea that he doesn't work for the US government now so he has more freedom, but I still don't know if I like how the story has unspun.

It's just the faces that look weird, the rest is fine.
Cap82
Cap82 - 3/4/2011, 3:10 PM
That is horrible art. What is wrong with their faces? The cover shot makes them look like they're related to willam defoe! Widow's neck in the 3rd page is super long lol.

Their faces make them look like hags...These are some of the hottest female characters Marvel has to offer and they look like shite.
