Platinum Studios says its film based on Top Cow's Darkness comic will be directed by Danny and Oxide Pang, who helmed Bangkok Dangerous and The Eye. Miramax will reportedly commence production next month.

A video game is being developed as well for Xbox 360. Look for it in early 2007.

"In The Darkness, mafia hitman Jackie Estacado discovers he is the heir to a formidable mystical force called the Darkness and he is the only one who can stop a supernatural power bent on enslaving humanity," according to Platinum.
